He needs zero stars. All you read is real and he will suck your estate dry and make fights to fill his pockets. He is well known for being a big crook just ask around he is infamous in Rockland just ask around. He left my ex wife poor and he took our home and all the retirement. He is wicked person.

I had hired Eric Thorsen for my case hoping to be getting the “BEST” he dragged my case out just to make more money. I was charged for things I never had. He is not the guy you want beside you! My ex had better presentation from his attorney and they were FREE! Run Run Run !

I fired this attorney because he absolutely does not know what he is doing, is lazy, and incompetent. My ex-wife had hidden banks accounts and was diverting money all over the place and despite showing him how she was doing it and where the money was going he failed to properly bring it to the court's attention costing me thousands in higher payments and pro-ratas I never should have paid. I lost over $500,000 in cash and property this boob failed to secure despite my ex-wife having no legal claim to it. He simply does not know what he is doing. His wife and daughter work with him and they are equally incompetent. He nickel and dimes you for every penny he can and drags litigation out even when he commits malpractice and fails to admit it.

I had such a horrible experience!! He dragged out my case just to make more money, he charged me for things he never did that had nothing to do with my case. He was terrible in trial!! Forgot important information in my case. Absolutely horrible !!! He will milk you for all your money !!!

Mr.Thorsen developed experience in sucking money out of his clients with no interest in being conclusive,on the contrary finding the way to prolong the case so he can keep billing his outregious fees and making sure that his contract covers all the angels to eventually force the client to pay. He also urges the client to sign the contract of about 15 pages without having the possibility of reading the terms of the contract and without giving the clients the copies for few days contrary to what is stated on the contract. I am engaging another lawyer to contest his submission to the court for an additional 5,000 dollars accumulated while he was getting fired for doing nothing.

Arrogant probably, work ethic great. Divorce is not easyand I'm not sure anyone will ever be happy. Eric did the best for me and invert happy with his service. I would recommend him to everyone.

We hired him to write a partnership agreement with someone who was to be a silent partner. The silent partner had already put money down in the purchase of a medical practice. The partnership agreement was not yet signed. The silent partner decided to back out and sued us for the money he paid. Thorsen sent a young associate to court and it was the associate who wrote the brief stating only character references on my husband; nothing about the terms of the partnership. Totally meaningless. On the basis of this ridiculous brief we never got out day in court and lost the case. Thorsen never told us we lost until after the 30 day appeal process. We should have sued Thorsen for legal malpractice.In addition, we got charged an outrageous fee for this incompetence.

Mr. Thorsen is known for over billing erroneously. Dragging out divorce to be able bill more hours. He does not put his clients best interests, before his own wallet.

Divorce sucks. No one is going to be happy. So here's the thing, you have to find happiness where it comes. You want to be represented well? Eric will do it. By finding what your goals are. Don't let yourself think that "truth" means anything in court. Funny thing is, Eric never had to lie for him to win in my case. He just needed all the information, no holding back, so he could do his job. Take your emotions out of it and I promise you'll do better. Did he win every time we went to the courtroom! No. And that pisses him off which fires him up and he'll come back. It's a passion thing for him I think. He hates to lose. Made his perfect to go up against my ex and his crazy lawyer. Eric won by being calm and knowledgable. Knew the law very very we'll. I don't see why he would need to overcharge these other folks. He does fine. I think you pay for what you get. And the courts live him. Lawyers that go up against him... Not so much. Fun times!

Eric Thorsen poorly rated! what a joke.This man is known for winning cases.Put the shark of a lawyer on the opposing side and he will slam him/her; with grace and wisdom. He understands situations with many years of experience behind him.Also, all the other players involved adore him for his likable personable manner.I have had another lawyer that was highly rated in this website...but the results were poor.As dreadful as court may be when sitting beside Eric I can't help but beam with pride at the excellency of his professionalism.He has helped our family so much so I consider him part of our lives.Thank You Eric Thorsen.

Eric tried over billing me. He sent me bills for phone calls during times we did not speak. He attempted to charge me for consulting with someone without my permission. I sent letters to his office, called and emailed and did not respond until I threatened to involve the NY State Bar Association

Eric DID NOT represent me at all; and I was his own client; paying a ton of money!! I did most of the work on my case and he lied and cheated and at the end stated that he had no records written down regarding the amount of child support I was to get. He had no records?? Then why the **** did he charge me? If it isn't written down then it is NOT done!

I had a similar experience with this guy to the other reviewer. It was like he was representing my wife at the time. He told me I shouldn't be paying her what the law said I need to pay -- and the judge called him on it. I had to pay tons of back child support, as well as his insanely high rate. At a time when I didn't have a lot of money. Very unscrupulous. Do not trust Eric Ole Thorsen. Seriously.

Fact: Eric got me awarded 7% of my assets and my ex 93%. Hugh money payout as well. It was like he represented her and not me. Fact: He over billed me, one month alone charging me $23,000.00. Fact: he arrogant, rude and does NOT listen to clients and have their best intrest at stake. Fact: He lies, he billed me for trial prep, yet never filed for a trial or had a trial book ready. These are FACTS you judge for yourself
