I was referred to Mr McVey by another attorney and was very pleased. He seemed to care about my situation, and told me the truth right up front. He couldn't do anything about my situation and warned me not to fall prey to predator attorneys as their was nothing that could be done. He gave me the best advice he could and told me exactly what to expect in the future. I was very thankful for his honesty and am fallowing his advice. He also told me I could call at any time with further questions and if something came up that he could help with he was more than happy to do so.

I went up against him in court and he is without a doubt the second least ethical person I have ever met. He lied in court, lied in court documents and talked back to our judge on a number of occasions. The judge was ANNOYED at him for his unethical and unprofessional behavior in court and it cost his client, my ex wife. He knows the system? He doesn't know enough about it to treat judges with respect and to get away with lying. Totally worthless, I feel sorry for my ex to have her situation made worse by this lawyer. By the way, his secretary is his girlfriend. She's gotten in trouble with the bar as well. Oh, and he had no problems discussing our case IN FRONT OF OUR CHILDREN in his office. He should do the world a favor and retire.

Indeed this lawyer has been censored for not making his fees and what he charges clear. This is his way of practicing law. I had the fortunate, yeah fortunate, opportunity to represent myself against him. And I learned a lot of what it takes to fight against an attorney who is unethical. McVay is good for those who want to get revenge on their ex spouse only. It is my opinion that any affordable attorney could have put him in his place easily. The first poster was right, he does help you get revenge on an ex. He knows the system well enough to maneuver to his benefit, but completely against what's in the childs best interest. McVay will charge a lot of money for his services and in the end, you will be stuck paying 80 to 100 percent even though he will tell you otherwise. If he truly had the childs best interest at heart, his bill would not shoot up to 8000 dollars for something anyone can do. The only exception? McVay knows how to manipulate the system. That's it.

Doug McVay told a judge in front of me that my daughter had been emancipated, when she had not, and was under my custody. He lied. He also threatened me with action other than legal action. He did not act as a trustworthy attorney.

Criminal Attorney turns to Family Court, not a good mix. If you are thinking of hiring an attorney to represent you in family court,AND really dont have real evidence against your ex, stay far away from this guy. Not only will he make you believe you have a case, but he will drag it out as long as you keep paying. He will use stall tacticts, creat false hope, (and false concern if he is hired against you) all the while dragging your ex through hell, while your child spends the whole court process away from your ex and with you. Yea sure you may get revenge on your ex, but in the long run, not worth it. You'll end up with less time with your child and less money than you had prior to hiring Mcvay. but hey, if you're into that whole "get even" thing,this is your boy. Mcvay has been censured and placed on probation is a slacker,deceptive,misleading attorney. freinds:Dr. Muriel S. McClellan, and Dr. Mary Ann Lanzilotta. You have been warned.

WHEN I USED MR. McVAYS SERVICE IT WAS VERY PRECISE, ACCURATE, AND TIMELY. HE WAS ABLE TO MAKE THE PEOPLE I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS WITT SEE THE ERROR OF THIER WAYS AND FORCED THEM TO CORRECT TINGSNEAR IMMEADAITLY. THANK YOU MRR. JD.D McVAY FOR WHAT YOU DID FOR ME!
