Debra represented me in what turned out to be an ugly and drawn out divorce after nearly 20 years of marriage. Our divorce was very lengthy due to multiple complex issues. Only a well trained, experienced, knowledge attorney could have handled this case. Long hours were devoted to me and my family for a desirable outcome. She does not do what you ask for. She will send you down all kind of rabbit holes and leave you with a hell of a bill. She is worried a lot more about her next case with the judge than yours. She does not protect your privacy or info also. I received a great deal of personal and financial information from another case by her office then I had to notify there office of the huge mistake. Save your money. I had around $40,000 in legal fees for divorce from a three year marriage. Not to mention the year and half of court proceedings. I owe it all to mediator for finally getting the divorce settled.

Debra and her Husband helped me with my divorce and my domestic protection order. Just know if I had not listen to Debra and had representation for my domestic hearing I would of lost out, he came with a lawyer and I was not going to listen to Debra.

Mrs. Chafin and her office are amazing! She, her husband, and her office staff were extremely helpful throughout the entire process of my step-parent adoption and contempt hearing, with appeal. They were all readily available with answers to my many questions, no matter how late into the evening, as this was all unfamiliar to me. They were always professional and very knowledgeable, good at explaining in understandable terms. She knew the facts of my case like it was her own personal experience. She was invested in my case and getting the outcome my children deserved. She and her staff were successful and my children were adopted by my husband. Debra Chafin is the most knowledgeable, caring and respectful lawyer that I have ever seen. She was so compassionate and caring with my elderly mother as she went through a divorce after being married for 53 years. She really knew what my mother was entitled to and got my mom things that we never even thought about. Debra has a wonderful support staff in her office. Danielle was the greatest she always was so nice and always had a smile that made us feel welcomed and that we were not just another client. Handled a child custody case, was afraid to speak up for us in front of judge and seemed more concerned about offending her fellow attorneys representing the other side. Charged for every email, every phone call, even every fax she sent out. Very condescending and irate when we asked her and she failed to speak up for us many times in court. She's really a tax attorney and has no business representing child custody cases.

Debra took over our custody case from another attorney. At the time we first met with her, we were upset and confused. Her demeanor put us much more at ease. She exhibited good knowledge of the court system and the law. She followed through with her promises and was good to work with. As with anything family court, there were compromises, but she made sure she protected the child. I would recommend her to anyone with a family court case.

Condescending and makes inappropriate comments ar your lowest point. Easily distracted from the key issuses and charges you $$$$$$ to deal with irrelevant issues even after you ask her not to do so. Charged me for several "meetings" with my ex's attorney and never communicated what was discussed or agreed upon. Communicates via email through different paralegals and never has the facts straight. Then when I confronted her on her behavior, she dissolved the relationship and sent me a bill.

Only out for money. Does not truly care about clients. Dies not return phone calls or emails but charges you for every call or email you send her whether she replies or not. Very cold personality. Charges additional retainers after she gets the first one to finish the case. I felt she purposely prolonged my case. Lawyers are very notorious for doing this. She has a cold misdemeanor and does not show herself friendly at all. This is an overpaid lawyer that provides mediocre quality work.
