I cannot truly comment on the firm's knowledge of anything other than how to dangle a client... I went with this firm to represent my SSD case after I was denied in my initial self-application attempt. In my 18 months with the firm, no contact with me was ever initiated by any attorney or staff member. When I did contact them the staff myself, I was assured all was well and proceeding normally with my case. An appeal denial and all these months later (struggling to live without income), still with zero instruction or communication from their office, I decided it best to terminate their so-called representation of my case. Although they are willing to stop representing my case, the attorney (Charles Hankey) signed a letter stating their office does NOT waive their right to any attorney fees should I end up winning my SSD case regardless of the terms I initially agreed to in that I would not owe the firm any money unless they won my case.

Their web page states Experience. Compassion. Justice. Although the staff I communicated with were compassionate, understanding, my attorney was anything but that. Instead of briefing me two weeks prior to my court case, she grilled me, made me feel like an incompetent fool. Like I was a waste of her time. I suffer for mental illness, that was the last thing I needed. I left in tears. We met just minutes before my case. Since I had not been briefed at that minute, I had questions. She curtly replied that we had went over all of that during our meeting,she was sure of it. When it was brought up that I had worked a few months during my 12 month period, she acted completely unaware. That was one of things she had put me down over. Stating she didn't know what she could do with my case. She did not research ANY of my illnesses to defend me in court. Mostly, she just sat there. She did compliment me on my testimony. I would not recommend this law firm to anyone.

I had Hankey law office for social security diablility case. In the 2.5 yrs waiting for the case to be heard I talked to the office staff and lawyer about 2 hrs total.I talk to the lawyer twice,initial consultation and 2 wks prior to the court date. This is over the course of 2.5 yrs. Questions we had were not answered and office staff was very rude. For the $6300 they received, I could have done every thing. They got my doctors records and that is it. Charged me extra 297.00 for the records. The court appearance lasted about 10 minutes.Wasn't "allowed" to talk to a lawyer when I called with a question.Office staff answered questions mostly gave wrong answers. Received information from our senator before anything from my lawyer.Would not recommend this law office to anyone.
