I retained Amanda in a child support case that was difficult from the get go. She was well aware of my situation and the difficulty of the case, and agreed to take me on as a client. I think she shouldn't have because she was disdainful of me from the start and it showed in how she treated me and spoke to me. She was difficult to get a hold of, refused to meet in person (making numerous excuses about covid, which was 2 years post pandemic), and overbilled me. I can confirm she billed for work of an associate that was not on calls that she said they were. She fired the associate working on my file, and then failed to submit crucial documents in my case after terminating the associate, and charging me for a new associate. I ended up firing her as my counsel, and she never sent me my documents for my case, although she said she would. The craziest part, is I hired a great lawyer, and ended up winning my case, with significant costs.

I agree with some of the other negative reviews. She oversold herself as a fighter and underdelivered. She is emotional and reactive and allows her personal life to get in the way. She couldn't handle the pressure or tactics of the opposing counsel. There was no strategy and poor communication; she was very disorganized, dropped balls, failed to follow through with requests, and made big costly mistakes. I don't recommend this lawyer.

Amanda is very intelligent, sharp and knows exactly what judges look for in the child custody cases. She was upfront with me on my strengths and weaknesses of my case. She helped me to change the way I looked at and reacted to things in regards to my child's custody and ultimately I got my child custody and the support that I wantd.

Amanda is very knowledgeable lawyer. She took initiative to finish my long dragging case as soon as I hired her. Hiring her was the best decision I made. I highly recommend her.

Amanda is a very knowledgeable within the realm of family law. She has acted as legal counsel throughout my split custody family law case. Her fees are reasonable and will work hard and provided solid advice pertaining to my case. She is meticulous when it comes to drafting and filing disclosure briefs, affidavits and motions. She is very adept in legal issues within the family law arena such as custody, access, mobility and financial matters. She cleaned up the financial disclosure mess that i was in being self employed and she deserves praise and thanks for steering my matter into the right direction.

Amanda is supportive and strong advocate. Her fees are fair and her communication is good. I hated having to go to court but it was worth it in the end.

Amanda is a great person but her work is not that of one of great quality. She doesn't have the best communication between herself & clients. Lots of mix ups with paper work and I found she judged me on a lot of my personal matters. In court she isn't the fighter she made herself to seem from our consultation. As for cost she doesn't take advantage of her clients when other lawyers do. I did respect that the most about her! A friend of mine, had a great experience with Amanda. Our cases were not comparable or our experience with Amanda.

Not pleased at all, does let outside matters get in her way. I had a friend that I recommended to her as well for a civil case that appeared to be fairly simple and he ended up losing that as well..I would not recommend her to anyone.

Ms Taerk was of great help as I was facing years of unjust spousal support and as it was a pre-trial, she managed to work out a deal and with finally a fair and non biased judge who reviewed the case, having the spousal support reduced from a $1,000/mo to $10./mo. It is not a typo error, it is $10./mo. Ms Taerk was excellent throughout the whole ordeal. At least I can say I had great value for the money spent. I wholeheartly trust Ms. Taerk and will recommend her to anyone that needs a family law lawyer to represent them. She is very tough with opposing counsel and does not take any guff from any of them.

Ms. Taerk got me sole custody of my children and a very fair financial settlement. my husband denied that he owned his company because the comapny was in his brother and his brother's wife's name. my husband claimed he earned a very limited income. Ms. Taerk was able to prove that my husband did own his company and that he earned a much higher income than he had disclosed or was willing to admit to. i am now receiving appropriate support and i am able to take care of my chidlren properly. the opposing counsel was a liar and tried everything to conceal my hsuband's income and his role as the owner of the company. Ms.Taerk was able to prove that my husband and his lawyer were not following court orders to discloe information and that they were actively trying to hide income and deny me and my children of the support we were entitled to. i now have my children with me and i have control over the decisions that are made in their lives. Couldn't be happier!

My spousal support litigation case was horribly damaged right from the day I retained her. She took her anger and frustration out on me which resulted from the opposing counsel that was extremely acrimonious and continuously acted in bad faith. She tended to forget a lot of processes that were crucial for my success. Other lawyers since her have expressed to me that she did not truly represent me in a positive manner. As I began to speak outwardly to her and express my disatisfaction of her service, she threatened to quit 2 times and actually did! The entire time that she represented me, my case sunk to new lows and I have been struggling to undue her mistakes. Her anger and frustration was always directed to me even though it originated with the opposing counsel. On one court appearance...she broke down into tears in the hallway and said that she couldn't take him (opposing counsel) anymore.
