I made a mistake in hiring Mr Thesenvitz to represent me for a divorce. He called me in for a meeting a few days before court to ask me questions that had little if any bearing in the case. I believe this was to 'pad' his bill. During one meeting he called the plaintiffs attorney while I was present and was cracking jokes with her. Very unprofessional. He must have flunked accounting. After the matter was settled and my bills were stamped 'paid in full' he had the gall to tell me he made a mistake and demanded $3500 from me. I told him to take me to court. He sent registered letters threatening me with imprisonment, fines and everything short of castration. Not recommended by this one-time client.

I gave low marks for the following reasons: Mr. Thesenvitz didn't give me other options or ideas on how to best handle some complicated financial issues during my divorce. As my attorney I expected him to be my advocate and give me options on how to best handle my situation. As a result I lost thousands of dollars over the years due to a poorly written divorce decree. While going through a divorce is traumatic enough, it makes it even worse when you pay someone to do a job and they do it poorly. He was also rude to me when I asked him to provide help to rectify the situation. Not what I expected. Very disappointed.
