I have had a very poor experience with Mr. Luiz. I was referred to a friend of his only to be referred back to Mr. Luiz. Overall I felt that my experience indicated that Mr. Luiz and some others that work among a shared building only desire to accept higher profile cases. They elect to completely disregard and dismiss legitimate lower profile cases that will not make them as much money. I have read articles about Mr. Luiz claiming that he was religious and gave back to the community and that is what brought my sister to attempt with him some monthes ago. Unfortunately all it led to was disappointment, shortages of money with no resolution, wastage of time, and ultimately the result of a lower morale among I and my sisters family regarding their case. I highly suggest to any of those reading to look elsewhere and heed my words. It seems that I could have almost written the last two reviews myself. What is true is that a leopard does not change its spots, and that is certainly true of Mr. Luiz. I often wondered why Mr. Luiz was in business for himself and not working for or a partner of a law firm. I found out why in short order. To his credit, Mr. Luiz took my case when no one else would, then Mr. Luiz took advantage of me. That last review here stated, "You're better off representing yourself." Well, that sums it up with Mr. Luiz. Mr. Luiz represented that he would reconsider and take my case on a contingency, then later he reneged and then withdrew. He forced me to represent myself. The irony here is that I probably did better on my own than he would have done for me after he bilked me for thousands of dollars. Yet Mr. Luiz unwittingly did me a favor by getting my case filed in the first place. Few litigants who aren't attorneys are able to take over there own case, but I did with some success.

Shawn Luiz is the most loyal and hardworking lawyer I know. He came through for me when I was in a bind. I hired him to represent me in litigation and he came swinging hard...so hard that the defense settled out of court. He was responsive, courteous, and a stickler for details. His secretary was very responsive and polite every time I called the office. I won't hesitate to hire him again when the need arises.

Shawn Luiz represented me in a UCPV case in 2010 through 2011. Judge Randall K.O. Lee was playing hardball with me and was very strict and deceptive in his handling my case, giving me more jail time as a result of my plea to change counsel. He is a tenacious attorney that makes you feel that he genuinely cares. Counselor Luiz may not be the most accomplished attorney but the diligence he showed in communicating with me and my family was priceless. I would recommend this attorney to anyone!

We are pleased the jury came back with a not guilty verdict. Mr. Luiz believed and based on the evidence knew the wrongfully accused was innocent. He proved at trial that the complaining witness fabricated her claims in an attempt to receive a big payout. Forever Thankful! He's a fierce trial lawyer.

He knows that he will not win the case but he will still charge you money ahead of the time and not do anything for you. You paid what he asked for and he will not provide you any information that you really needed and charged you for the visit and talk story.

I just go through a settlement with Shawn when I wanted to go to trial. He actually tried to withdraw as counsel 1 month before trial! I had to pay thousands in sanctions from the court because of his mistake. He would not pay it! He is the worst attorney I can imagine in both ethics, work, and more. I wish I read all the comments from the previous review Prior to entering an agreement with him since I believe they are True. If you are looking for an attorney to HURT you then he is the right guy.

This Attorney takes your money and to my knowlege by court case accounts looses and still makes money ! I want a job like that ! Takes the the customers for a ride and RIPPS THEM OFF ! He does not return phone calls or replies back from letters ! His office is usually closed during business hours ! He will close a case without telling the customer ! He will not bother to tell you to go to a court hearing ! He's a very good con artist ! He's lost just about all his court cases ! He still gets paid ! Your better off representing yourself !
