This lawyer is only about getting money not good for children. DO NOT take her as your lawyer. She does not check on children's good but her own packet.

I am surprised she is not disbarred yet. She does not listen to her clients. She bills unreasonably-- and most importantly, she did nothing, responded to one email, showed up at court. In the end, I should have just stayed married. If you're getting a divorce, don't got to her-- on even on word of mouth.

G. B. Berger was the court-appointed guardian ad litem for my 3 children during my 3 1/2 yrs of grueling divorce. In NO WAY was she ever impartial!!! During a meeting between me, my ex & our attorneys we were discussing visitation for Thanksgiving holidays. She mentioned that she had Chicago police officers in her family so they didn't necessarily celebrate Thanksgiving on Thursday. My ex comes from two generations of Chicago police officers. It was then that I realized she and my ex probably had mutual family members that knew each other from the past. My ex DID have to pay her fee in the end. $39,000 and that was the tail-end fee. My advise: Don't bother getting divorced. The attorneys are the only ones that end up w/any $$$$. Stay married; separate; and save your $$$ for your kids!!! OR represent yourself pro se!!! Finally, please note, I give her NO stars!!!

WORTHLESS! Tried to have my rights taken away. Filed a petiton and did not show me until we were in front of he judge and then said read this contract here real quick. What an ignorant excuse for a lawyer. Did not help with missed visitation. Took $5000 and ran. Shame on her. I let the entire court room know she was fired. What a waste of time. She should be de-barred immediately.

It is all about a paycheck with her and nothing more. Not totally her fault. The whole court appointed guardian ad litem is a joke. Very close to an expensive ambulance chaser

Things Geri Berger did for my 3 year case. 1) showed up on the day she was appointed 2) met the parents for an hour each 3) answered three emails in less than 50 words 4) sent bills adding up to around 5-6K 5) showed up on the final agreement day with orders to get paid. She NEVER met the child or visited homes or made a report of any kind despite the definition of her job according to the state and her bills claiming to do work. She is horrible. She has no drive to do a job well and right. She ignored emails. She is useless to children. Less than a year after the agreement, the mother committed parental kidnapping across the country despite a JOINT parenting agreement. There was actual evidence that this would happen, but SHE ignored it. She messed up and has no intention of helping or fixing the situation because she wants money. She has no intention of doing her job.

Appointed as GAL to our custody dispute. Never met her client, never did anything for the case, just kept billing for work never done. Very poor handling of our case.

Ms. Berger has both extensive knowledge of Illinois law as well as the experience necessary to represent you successfully. She was responsive to my concerns and professional in all aspects of her work. I have no doubt that Geraldine Berger represented me well, protected my rights and provided me with sound legal advice.
