Excessively billed until no money left. To get more billing, he would have another person in the firm become familiar with case. Divorce took 5 3/4 years! 95% of my retirement money gone. I have to work until I'm 70 or so!

This guy was the guy we went up against in my very simple custody/divorce case. He dragged our case out for so long my ex husband spent over $200,000 on him and nothing went his way. I wasn't even fighting with him and he lost things I wasn't even fighting for. He filed motions, sent out subpoena's, held depositions all over a simple divorce. I am thankful for my lawyer she knew of his antics and she didn't feed into it. We showed up when we had to and mostly everything just got tossed out. Worst thing is he is a bully. He called me in for a deposition and i cried through the whole thing. He was rude and yelled and was so unprofessional. He did the same thing to my girlfriend who has nothing to do with my divorce. But funny enough my boyfriend that was called in for a deposition he was the nicest guy in the world to. Sexist much? If you want to send a fortune i suggest this guy.

After a year in court I did not get one thing I asked for. Even something as simple as splitting the transportation ... nope, couldn't even get that. I see my kids less and owe more money then I make. Ridiculous!

You could be better lawyer for yourself than him. Terrible, terrible experience. He does not remember anything, losing all motions.

Personally I had a good experience with Mr. Grotta, he got me full custody, pulled visitation with a alcoholic/drug user, after getting a + hair follicle drug test, & got me 1/2 the cost of my home $127,000. He gave me responsibilities to do on behalf of the case to save me $. The cost was $62,000 which I thought was quite expensive but my case was a very difficult one.

I agree with the first two comments. Very easy child support case, should have been over in 2 months, lasted almost a year and cost over $35,000. He recommends a CPA firm that he "won't go to court without". The CPA never saw the inside of the courtroom, cost $11,250. And DON'T miss a payment to Gotta, he will go to court the following week and try to dismiss himself from the case!!! All in all a very very bad experience, basically lost the case and still owe him money!!!! Will bleed you of every penny you have before thinking about bringing the case to a close.

I agree with the 1st review, Grotta is totally worthless, only after $$, schedules useless hearings to run the bill up and never won one motion in my case. Unprepared at court and seemed confused often. He clearly paid for his "leading Lawyers" ranking. Avoid at all costs. A very expensive lesson over $65,000.

I was totally bleed by this lawyer. Stay away at all cost! I lost custody of my son to a alchoholic/drug user. He was never prepared for court and was even abusive at times. He's nothing but a big bully!
