As an "experienced" litigant who has been dealing with a horrendous divorce for 5+ years (out of state), I can say Jan is absolutely wonderful. I've seen 100s of attorneys in action over the years in various forums and jurisdictions. Jan is everything you want in an attorney - she knows the law, she knows what she's doing, she is effective and efficient. Any commentary about her demeanor or attitude I can only attribute to litigants who don't understand how the legal system works and the type of mind set and professionalism required of an attorney to get things done. I have found her to be extremely helpful, knowledgable, gracious and I'd highly recommend her!

Ms. Simmons seems like an experienced lawyer. She got the upper hand on my lawyer during my divorce hearing. Good for her :) However, I was forced to question her morale compass. She unfoundedly accused me of "harassing" my ex-wife when Ms. Simmons had absolutely no evidence--and I absolutely *NEVER* harassed my wife. My lawyer was just not quick enough to respond before the judge made up his mind. The judge prematurely shut the hearing down. Good work, Simmons. . . She then proceeded to talk about my property and devalued it to almost half of what it was worth. This is questionable since the original mediation amount that she knew about was $50K more than what she evaluated my property that day to the judge. I believe she had a questionable tactic here that she did not have to implement because she had already used her wiles swayed the judge. If I ever need a devious lawyer, I might consider hiring Ms. Simmons for my case.

Here’s what you need to know about Jan Simmons. She came highly recommended and she is PHENOMENAL!!! My first attorney didn’t return my calls, was sloppy bordering on malpractice and a year after I hired her, I let her go and switched to Jan. She was on top of EVERYTHING!!! This was especially important because she handled my divorce with my abusive ex. She knew her stuff and always advised me well. She always knew what she was doing and got back to me right away, either personally or through her paralegal, Hunter. Hunter is the BEST paralegal you could ever hope to work with! He is kind, thorough, always responsive and knowledgeable as well. I lucked out in hiring this incredible team and I can’t recommend them enough! Jan made me feel that she was on my team from the beginning. She fought for me, was professional and is a great listener. She is one of the most trustworthy people I have ever come across. It is in your best interest to hire Jan!!!

i would never recommend anyone to this person, she was paid over 7k dollars to represent my daughter in a child custody case a few years back. She told my daughter just to give the kid to the dad and we could go back at a later date because she didn't want to make the judge mad. She took 7k dollars walked in the court room one time and give that kid away. we are from Ga and I wasent there , there was no way I would have ever agreed to that. I don't care if the judge was mad are not.She had no concern what happen to that child just took the money and run. She is a heartless person and is there just for the money. There was no drugs involved just a young 20 year old girl trying to live in Nashville.

Janelle A. Simmons is the best attorney by far. She tells you like it is, is well prepared and doesn't nickel and dime you with charges for every little thing. She is fair and honest. I agree with some of the other comments of her being a little rough around the edges but she is to be my attorney not my best friend. Her staff is the best and very knowledgeable. When Janelle was not available I could always talk to her legal assistant as she was so kind and knew as much about my case as Janelle did. I liked that instead of other attorney's assistants that just take a message and never get a call back. This was never the case with Janelle Simmons office, my calls were always returned.

I attained Ms.Simmons after juvinile failed to protect my child from her father whom was physically mentally and emotionally abusive now Jan was brutally honest with me about how the courts are and what my shot was at keeping him away from my child which was little to none she made me cry with her total honesty but she was clearly on my side and when it came time for court she was fully prepared and won my case i still thank God for her everyday because she helped save my baby from more trama and abuse my daughters still in therapy to this day for what her father did to her but she is NOT within his reach no longer andi must give credit to God, the best therapist in our city, and my wonderful spit fire no bs kinda lawyer Janelle Simmons in my eyes she will always be one of my childs angels

She did my divorce and got me everything I asked for and she won my brothers custody battle too. I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone. She may seem a bit rough around the edges but she is a very nice woman who gets the job done and doesnt take no crap! We love her!

This lawyer is very unprofessional. If you are looking for someone willing to fabricate a story to help a client's case no matter who she hurts, this might be the attorney for you, She was ordered by a judge to speak with me as she represented my husband. She would not. Advised me I had to hire an attorney to speak for me. Rude, nasty and souless!

If you have a domestic violence history with your ex, she lacks ANY knowledge of these type of cases. We never had our calls returned. We never got court papers of motions filed. Nothing we wanted was ever done, BUT she took our money and put the children in an unsafe environment with an abuser. We are still fighting the system on our own, my ex files frivolous motions all the time. Jan is NOT on your side, it almost seems like she works for the other parties attorney insted of you.
