My wife and I were clients of his for five years to try to get legal status for my wife. We foolishly trusted him with our case and continuously paid him his fees hoping he could do something for us throughout the years. We finally took our blinders off and went to see another attorneys to get other opinions. We finally met someone who had a similar case to ours who had an attorney who helped her get legal status. We contacted her attorney and I'm happy to say my wife now has legal status. Most of us get comfortable with "Professionals" who build on our trust and emotions and make us think they are helping us. But in reality are leading us on just to take our money. Mr. Berg seems to be one of them.

This attorney is a rip off, only cares about money. He pocketed 2 thousand for nothing. If you need a real professional do your research, he will try to drag the case, schedule you to collect more. Horrible attorney.

Mr. Berg took my case after I consulted two previous lawyers and he had been fighting for me and my family for the past 10 years. Finally, our application was granted thanks to Mr. Berg's knowledge of the law and his guidance. He has been a great lawyer and counselor. We will always be grateful to him.

i had the pleasure to work with mr berg for 24 years.yes i do i agree he is very expensive and very arrogant.he also did go to law school and invest i hiis carrer.he has some issues that i call him on.he has kept my husband here in this country for 24 years and he will do the same for you.what? you dont want to pay him? me too.soo lets send them back lose all and be done.how much do you think law scool is? and did you win with judge zerbe?so in summary love him.no mr berg just cuz i luv you no more then what we agreed.lol and no

Horrible lawyer. He lacks social skills and takes advantage of people with poor english speaking skills. He charges $300 per consultation and I have observed him more than once calling us into his office just to make some copies and then proceeding to charge us another $300. I am trying to avoid him at all costs unless I need to deal with him before the court case. I have strong reason to believe that he is intentionally stretching out the case to get as much money out of us. He often talks down to us and is arrogant and abrasive. I have also watched him in immigration court and he responds in the same callous manner to the judge. It is clear that he has a reputation and is not very liked, but he doesnt care because he is full of himself. I am only tolerating because he has taken my family's case to the immigration court and its a little late to change lawyers but I watch him like a hawk and challenge all his actions. Beware he will scam you if you dont speak english.

This lawyer claims to be certified by the National Immigrant Justice Center and American Immigration Lawyers Association; however, he charges large amounts of money for the services he provides. I ended up paying him nearly $18,000 over a period of 16 years from 1995-2011; he never helped with anything or updated me and would claim that DREAM Act was about to be passed and should be patient; complete BS & false. Over $400 per consultation just to have him tell me to be patient, rather than say I'm sorry nothing can be done. Go with a Pro-Bono lawyer instead. The fact that the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights refers this guy to people is disgusting & despicable.

I LOVE MR BERG. HE WAS NOTHING BUT SUPPORTIVE AND FOUGHT FOR ME ALWAYS. I GIVE HIM CREDIT FOR ME STAYING IN THE US. I WENT TO TWO LAWYERS BEFORE HIM WHO DID NOTHING FOR ME. HE IS EXPENSIVE BUT WORTH EVERY PENNY! I WOULD PAY HIM DOUBLE IF I HAD THE MONEY.

This attorney represents legal knowledge without any social skills. He is consistently abrasive, callous, and cynical and exhibits utmost greed without any concern for the actual person. I recommend anyone to retain any other more sympathetic and professional attorney instead of this horrid person.

I am impressed with knowledge and honesty Mr. Berg showed during consulataion about my immigration case. I called to schedule an appointment to see him and discuss my case. He called me back in less than half hour and I had the opportunity to ask various questions regarding my case. Mr. Berg was able to answer my questions in a way that I would be able to understand and was very straight forward and honest with me. I had the answers of my questions in less than 30 minutes, something that I was not able to get for years from other attorneys working on my case. I would definetly recomend him. He is someone that could be trusted with such an important issue as immigration.

The couple had met a string of legal defeats, starting with a denial for U.S. political asylum for Janina Wasilewski a few years after she arrived as a former Solidarity movement activist in communist Poland and allowed her temporary visa to expire.
Royal Berg, Wasilewski's attorney, took the case as high as the U.S. Supreme Court before finally winning a waiver in June against what was supposed to be a 10-year bar against her return after she had violated an order for voluntary removal in the mid-2000s. Berg said she won her legal battle after she was able to show that her husband was suffering from "extreme hardship."

Mr, Berg is one of th best Immigration Lawyers that Illinois has. He is very involved with each case and is ethical in dealing with issues. He worked on my case diligently and I have recommended him to many individuals who have had successful outcomes with him. I will not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who needs an Immigration Lawyer.

Mr. Berg is very involved with the whole concept on compassion immigration reform. He is very active within different organizations and is constantly continuing to fight for this cause. He is respectful and knows what he's talking. Overall, I feel he is a very active attorney who is willing to help his clients. I also like the fact that Mr. Berg speaks conversational Spanish. He is a good man with a good heart. I thank him for all he has done.

Our case was almost denied because his negligence. It appears that this attorney failed – repeatedly – to submit important materials, and has been unable to furnish any proof of the materials being lost in the mail, such as mailing receipts. We resigned his service and he don't even scheduled an appointment to discuss the termination of our case.
