Horrible judge. Sexist. Uses his only personal issues against you. Does not care about children. He can preach all he wants that he does. But he does not. He sided with men who women have left because obviously his wife left him too. He lies and makes things up on final judgments, he doesn’t rememebr half the things said yet alone remembers names. He will shatter a woman and make you feel horrible about yourself. He does not care what you have to say nor what kids go through.

He’s senile and insane. Destroys families. Took children from their mother despite their testimony to dcf that they were abused. Gave them to a man who was arrested for domestic violence 4 times despite testimony from a social worker, therapist, stepmother, grandmother, and HOPE services worker. Sits up there and rambles about his extensive knowledge and ignores everyone. Claims his “deep familiarity” with the case and doesn’t even get anyone’s names right even on his written orders. Thank God he’s retiring in January.

This judge doesn't listen to your argument and has already decided the case even before the hearing. My Injuction was against my former boss who cyberstalking me and bullying and harassing me through third party (other people) and I need to be protected against the additional abuse I had already suffered by this abuse! I fear for my life every day and listening devices are installed in and around my house that my abuser uses to monitor me! I feel like being kept in the worst PRISON and I need someone to help me to get proof for the judge even I know they are doing it I can't get anyone to help me get the proof because everyone is being told not to help me. My former boss is abusing his power and I need protection against this abuse that is going on for 12 years now! Can someone please help me in Pinellas county.

I went into a hearing with Judge Helinger uncertain of what to experience. I read the prior lawyer reviews and wondered if they were accurate. I discovered that most of the posted reviews were completely inaccurate. I have practiced family law in 4 other states over a period of 50 years and I discovered that Judge Helinger is one of the best family court judges I have ever known. He can be gruff and intimidating but he is very fair and respectful to the lawyers and parties at the same time. The care and concern that he showed for the family and children in the matter were impressive. His decision in the matter and the wisdom behind it were extremely impressive. I wouldn't recommend this judge if my life depended on it. He was very one-sided and refused to listen to my argument whatsoever. It's like he started the hearing already knowing what his decision would be. He refused to listen to any facts whatsoever and completely disregarded my reasoning.

Helinger is a disgrace to the bench. He ignores the testimony and evidence and rules in favor of who he likes which is usually the woman, in spite of the facts os the case. I hired a guardian ad litem who was a retired family court judge and Helinger totally ignored her recommendation.

He is a judge for hire! If you pay he will rule in your favor regardless of the evidence.
