Ms Smedley counts on her clients being too ignorant to know when they are being rip off. She charges for legal services and does not perform legal services or return phone calls.

Caution!!! Do not waster your money, on this lawyer. I learned the hard way. I first chose to use her in a child support case, against my ex. She agreed to take my case and insured me she was filing for a continuation. However, court date came and I had not heard anything from her, even after leaving messages, for her the whole week I showed up to court just in case it was still being held. Of course, it was and I was there alone. Then my husband, after lots of prayer and consideration, chose to give her the benefit of the doubt and try her in his child support case. Once again, after promising him she would be there and taking our money, she failed him too! Never filed anything, nor showed up to court.Unless you have money to throw away,I caution you now. Do not even consider using her to defend you, for anything. She let us down, immensley. However, the only lawyer we needed,God,showed up and did not fail us.Luckily we only pd for a consultation which she said would go to the bill

Valerie Murry Smedley is a piss poor lawyer. Smedley does not communicate with you regarding your case. I had paperwork that needed to be replied by within 30 days, it has now been over 2 months and she still has not filed the petition. She never returns phone calls, email, or messages. After I begin making phone calls to the court house and found out that she never filed any paperwork or anything regarding my case that was the last draw. This is the worst lawyer you can have. you would actually come out better seeking a different lawyer. I would've came out better doing my own legal work and representing myself, and yes she is just that bad.
