On June 10, 2021 Disrud was fired in writing for negligence and dishonesty. The glowing reviews here by happy customers praising Disrud do not contradict my well-founded disgust for his practice of Law. If you want the services of a slimy, amoral Divorce Ghoul motivated by greed, to dismember and alienate a family, to poison an amicable separation, to wreck and pillage a household or simply to impose vengeful misery on a former loved one ... Well I'd never argue against the notion that such a creature can be summed up in one ugly word. Disrud. I'm an elderly, disabled Veteran and sole parent of my totally dependent handicapped son. I hired Disrud to secure my sons VA survivor benefits. His life will depend on them when I'm dead. After eight months a US Congressional Inquiry revealed Disrud lied about being VA accredited, did no work at all and stole $4000 from us. These charges against him are under investigation by the Texas Attorney Generals office and the Texas Bar. AVOID DISRUD

DO NOT hire this lawyer! He has a very poor communication skills, delays cases for more $$$, expensive, unethical, disgraced to say he served with me, lies, procrastinates and doesn't provide copies of documents. To say the least, I paid him to do nothing. After firing him, my new lawyer wrapped up my case in less than 2 months. Whereas, Jon Disrud delayed my case for over a year and allowed my kids to be taken away from me without evidence nor police report. Disgraced!

Jon is an excellent professional trial attorney who is intelligent, honest and ethical. He helped me with a divorce decree and expedited my trial at the Bexar circuit court. Jon has done excellent work for me and my family now for five years. Throughout this time, Jon has been extremely helpful and available.
He is a very intelligent and well-educated attorney, and understands how to get the job done in a way that sometimes only Veterans of the military do.
He is a former active duty military officer, and still serves as an officer in the reserves, helping other military members with their legal cases as a JAG attorney. Mr. Disrud is very conscientious, courteous, and knowledgeable. Many attorneys take too long to return calls or communications. He took the time to meet with my husband I multiple times, even on short notice. We had a case that crossed state lines and Mr. Disrud's experience in the area was a true blessing. He fought hard for our case and did everything he could. He genuinely cared about the outcome of our situation and it showed. Jon is the most knowledgeable and professional attorney in San Antonio! He had the ability to comfort me during the most stressful time in my life. As everyone else has stated he lacks communication. Paid him $3500 and he never returned a phone call, appointments would get cancelled or he would not be present, after he received my money. Please take your services elsewhere as in my opinion is a horrible lawyer.

Disrud is a crook,s liar, and totally imcompetent. He failed to return my phone calls, and never responded to my emails. I have kept a complete record of all my correspondence with him and can substantiate this claim completely. He failed to investigate my case even when I provided him with the name and contact information of witnesses, he did not provide me with a contract or statement of the work he was to perform for me, he never kept me up to date, and when I fired him, I asked for a substantial portion of my fee back which he had not earned, and he refused basically telling me to go screw myself. When I pointed out to him his lack of interest and his obvious lack of knowledge not only about the circumstances of my case by the relevant law, he just laughed. He said he had my money and I was just screwed if I did not like it. I had other attorneys who were not involved in the case review his work and they said he should be disbarred for such unprofessional representation.

Poor communication. I had to call repeatedly to get updates. I kept giving info to fill in the decree and it kept getting screwed up, I was even sent documents for another person with the same last name as me. I was billed lots of money for nothing more than a divorce template, yet he certainly knew where to keep sending the bills to. Paralegal was poor as well, never knew what was going on, always had to "look up my case, then I will call you back" ... days later. Sad.
