This man is incapable of representing anyone. He was assigned to my son as a public defender in April. To date he has adamantly refused to talk to any of us. We received a call from a woman with his office telling us to stop calling. The trial is tomorrow morning. At one of the court appearances my son reached out to shake his hand and he looked at him as if he were trash and turned his back to him. The last court appearance in July I heard person after person complaining about the same thing. My son has zero record, and has never been in trouble before nor since. I'm scared to death his lIfe is going to be ruined over a mistake. How can an attorney represent a person they refuse to speak with?!

This is my brothers public defender. My brother has been held for 9 months with no formal charges yet. Mr Schwartz answer to this "I know people that have been held a hell of a lot longer" My brother is in Lamar County Jail and has had medical problems since day 1, I've called this attorney daily for weeks on end with no answer. He just told me that he was going to have to refer me to a civil attorney that sues the "hell out of jails", "I can't do it because I work for the state". How can an attorney be appointed by a court of law not be able to fully represent their clients??? How can a person sit in jail for 9 months to a year with no trial? My answer when finally getting thru to this attorney and reminding him that he was supposed to speak with the prosecuter about the case "I talked with him about 80 different people how can I remember your brother". This has been a nightmare and the court appointed attorney (Mr. Schwartz) has made it worse!
