Years ago I hired this attorney to do a simple record expunge. Got a court date, and they sent a rude pos attorney that didn't no what they where doing. Anyway, turns out I paid them 1500 for absolutely nothing. Hope no one uses this prick or any of his minions.

Took $10,000.00 and did almost no work on my case. Completely missed court dates. Unprepared when we did go to court. Very hard to get a hold of.I could have done better representing myself. Extremely unprofessional. Wish I could get my money back.

Hired for divorce. found out after things were over what he missed and failed to follow the law. He cost me money, time, and caused aggrivation. He may be a nice guy but a lousy attorney.

I hired this lawyer and he did a great job on my divorce. I have never had to hire a lawyer before and was very nervous. Mr. Rathel and his staff really helped me through a bad time. The new what they were talking about and gave me good advice. The quality of the work was great and they always kept me informed. The price of the legal services seemed reasonable compared to the calls I had made prior to hiring them. This is the lawyer to go to if you need great representation.

I got arrested and this was the third lawyer I called. He answered his cell phone at 8pm on a Saturday night. I was able to have a phone meeting with him explaining what I had got arrested for (DUI) and that it was my first time ever getting arrested. He explained everything to me and gave me his fee over the phone. The fee was reasonable so I went in for a free consultation. I hired him and he did a great job. The staff was also very helpful but not as nice as the lawyer. This is the guy to go to if you did something stupid. It also helped that they took payment plans.

Used him for divorce. Waited a couple of years before posting a comment so that the sting of divorce was over. Mine was a more simple case, uncontested to a point. I have a basic understanding of the laws and Mr. Rathel did provide acurate advice. I may not have been happy with the outcome but the fact is that the law was followed and that is what your attorney is supposed to do. I deal with attorneys every day and the number one complaint is lack of communication. I do understand that attorneys have more than one client so there are times where communication can be difficult and i also understand that the attorney and I may be thinking and meaning 2 different things. I give him an ok on communication but think he and the majority of the other attorneys can do a better job.

I have had a few lawyer and this guy is by far the worst. I was in his office a couple times with other clients fighting him over his dishonesty. I was told $5000 would be the total for my divorce. He told me unless I paid an additional 2500 trial fee that he would drop me as a client. There wasn't even a trial. We settled without a trial. There was no communication. He showed up to court in a leather jacket like a total schmuck. His office refused to give me any kind of advice unless I paid additional money. I have had to hire a few attourneys in my time and this guy is the only I feel I need to warn people about. DO NOT HIRE THIS CLOWN.

I wish I would have read all of these ratings before I hired this attorney for my case. All of these reviews are accurate. I have never dealt with the court process before now. The $5,000 that attorney Rathel was paid was a complete waste. I would have done a better job representing myself. He did not prepare me for my hearing and I was basically thrown to the sharks as he sat there and watched it all happen. This attorney is absolutely terrible!!! I will make this known to everyone in the Orlando area. DO NOT HIRE!!

Please be careful. I am going to the media about this attorney. Please be aware and find another attorney. He took my $5000 retainer fee. Did no work. Did not keep me informed about the status of my case. Did not inform me about my pretrial and showed up late for my divorce hearing. I found out later that he had already settled my case. I'm going to the news media and filing a formal complaint.

When he first practiced law he ran for county office outside of his zone and got caught. In addition to that dishonesty, his wife was his campaign treasurer and was caught fraudulently handling the money. What a pair. It used to be on the internet but is gone now, he must have had those records sealed. And now he has his face plastered around town on a million billboards. Either he has done well by cheating others or is desperate for business. My advice - good luck and steer clear of this joker.

All about the money...took my money without explaining ANYTHING to me or helping me through a very difficult time. I wasn't expecting love and support from my lawyer but some decency and respect would have at least been nice.

Despite all the negative feedback I saw on this attorney initially, I reluctantly went with him for a $2500 uncontested divorce. All the reviews that state that all Mike is about is money is completedly TRUE. He on multiple occasions stated that he wanted to drop me if I didn't pay the additional $2500 when it was still an UNCONTESTED case! It is allowed 2 back and forths regarding the MSA and I only had one! Luckily the opposing counsel was reasonable as he didn't have any knowlege to defend me if they made obsurd accusations. He is giving the law profession in Florida a bad rap. Do yourself and the rest of Florida a favor and choose an attorney that is knowlegeable and gives a crap about people...

Mr Rathel, is by far not only the worst attorney I have ever dealt with but the provided nothing for the $5,000 he charged in my divorce. When I say nothing I mean absolutely nothing. He did show up at the court ordered mediation on time and that is the best I can report. He came unprepared, did zero preliminary work, and spoke about 10 words at the mediation. I did all the talking and negotiating. I fornd out after mediation and after agreeing to permanent alimony that my ex-wife lied about her job status and employnent. Claimed unemployment and zero income but was employed with $60,000 income. This should have been discovered by Mr. Rathel if he had done even 1 minute of discovery but he only wanted the money. Once I informed him of this fraud he was willing to reopen the case for u betcha another $5,000. I am just now a year and a half later getting the mess straightened out that this so called attorney caused. STAY AWAY THIS GUY IS A WORTHLESS CROOK.

Don't ever go to this lawyer, he is one of the worse out there. All he care about is getting your money. After you sign the contract, you will rarely have a chance to talk to him. He is handleling a divorce case for me, and I have to do all the work. After a year of struggle, I finally had a MSA signed dealling directly with my spouse. And now one month from the day we signed the MSA, I am still waiting for him to set up the final hearing date. I will never use this lawyer again.

Mr. Rathel is making it very hard to get hold of him, he represented me in my divorce case. Most of my efforts went towards getting hold of him, my ex wifes lawyer had similar comments about him. He never took the time to read the agreement, and wanted me to do the all the work. Mr. rathel is giving bad reputation to the Lawyer profession.
