Mr. Veenstra was appointed to be my appellate attorney in a case where I was set up by the County. Mr. Veenstra was playing for the opposing team and my case never made it to the Court of Appeals. This attorney claimed first that he wasn't able to reach me by phone or mail. When I challenged that lie he then switched stories and claimed he had just "overlooked" my case. After bringing my case to his attention he did less than nothing in my interest. I am flabbergasted by the number of individuals involved in our justice system willing to blatantly abandon their ethics and often as "favors" to one another in cases which they have no knowledge of the actual facts and no regard for the consequences, often at the expense of their own clients, as a direct result of those "favors". I am a single parent of 4 kids with autism and Joseph Veenstra's actions and inactions with respect to my case have had devastating, life-long effects on my entire family. We will never be same.
