I hired Michael Brehne’s firm in July 2011. I paid 3500 cash because he would not start my case until my check cleared. Melissa called me and said she was my attorney. I didn’t receive responses to several emails I sent asking for updates. February 2012, she called saying she left the firm and Brehne handed her my file. She found an attorney that would take my case at no additional fee or I could find my own. I called Brehne, who said Melissa quit. He said my case was not his area of expertise but he would take it on if I wanted that or I could make Melissa handle it. I believe I should have been called first and provided with options. My file left his offices without my consent and was shared with other people. It was best to hire another firm. When Melissa gave me my file, it had the original contract too. I sent Brehne a letter explaining my dissatisfaction with the poor communication and the handling of this situation, he sends me 500 of the 3500 I had paid.

So far this office all it has done is lie to my fiance, they first came to our home claiming that they were the best, that they would fight for our rights. now it has been months we have always tried to get in contact with them and they never answer, we hired them thinking we were hiring Michael Brehne, but we ended up with a woman named Melissa, who we never called & lied about talking with us and explaining the case..after much calling and bugging them they called for him to come and sign some papers finally, and she swore that the paper he was signing had nothing to do with his check that he was supposed to receive, he has been out of work, we are loosing our apartment, have nowhere to go.. she said it would take 3 days and to come back on Friday... So Friday is here no call from her, we tried to get in touch with her all day. when we called the last time they said she was gone for the weekend. so we are stuck here getting evicted and she is somewhere enjoying her weekend...
