Hired Rick Canina Sr. to represent our son for Violation of Community Control. He was recommended to us by a trusted friend.
During the court proceedings, he "confessed" to the judge our son was out drinking. Then he blurted out twice. "He was drunk and didn't know what he was doing!" So not only was our son in violation of community control, now he was drunk driving?!
What started out as a something simple, ended up becoming a nightmare!
Canina's idea for representing our son was to throw him under the bus. He didn't plan to defend him. He didn't prepare, He stumbled with his words. He confessed to things that my son wasn't charged with! He didn't represent our son at all. He was awful!
He made sure to get the remainder of his money the day before court. He knew I was going to be disappointed and wouldn't pay the balance.
Our son is now serving 2.5 years in prison.
I am going to report him to the BAR and the BBB.
