My experience with Terry and his firm are the same as all the others who have negative reviews! HE was more of an adversary than the opposition! What game is he playing? Something wrong with those who are upright citizens? Seems so! Refused to object to my wife's dissolution of a verbal separation agreement, by which she had obtained title of our newest vehicle (only to trade it in for increased indebtedness--with an inflated loan value on top of that), then resumed occupation of the house in my absence, robbed me of $20k in goods and cash, vandalized another $15k in improvements, undervalued the house by $50k--all of which Poppe wanted me to accept without issue! When I refused he withdrew, leaving me at the mercy of a hostile court. Also very arrogant and hostile towards me, with his secretary, and poorly communicative, even to missing the date of the court after blaming me for not being able to appear for pre-trial depositions due to an emergency hospitalization! BAD TO THE BONE!

**** Terry Poppe. I FINALLY got my ex-spouse in for mediation and I thought it was going great... until he did ALL of her negotiation. It wasn't an honest conversation between the two parties, it was me versus him. He would START negotiations with things HEAVILY in her favor, I would talk it down as close to 50/50 as I could and I guess I was naive enough to fall for the rest of it. I feel scammed because I just wanted that time in my life to be over with and this seemed like a great option until it was me versus someone with years and years of experience. If you are suckered into mediation through him, STAND YOUR GROUND. THERE'S NO REASON YOU DON'T DESERVE 50/50.

Totally uncommunative. NEVER takes your phone calls and neither will his law clerk! Call another lawyer!

Agreed to take my case and waived fee, never returned calls, advised not to file rape on my abusive ex And said keep him out of jail so he pays lots of child support but then during the settlement he didn’t have my back, took ex side and when I was crying he pulled me into another room I told him I was having anxiety attack & he laughed and said I was faking it. If I questioned anything he would get an attitude and say “and how much money have you payed me? called 6pm the night before my final hearing to say he was withdrawing because he didn’t like that I emailed his secretary to say I wasn’t in the right mental state of mind to be in the settlement, changed his mind an hour before court and showed up 10 minutes late had some other guy listed as my husband, were there for 15 minutes and he charged me 1090$ for that appearance alone, and in the final decree I realized he put false info on paperwork. He did nothing he said he would and was rude, unethical , and deceitful

Terry and Cindy both refused to communicate to me, never returned messages (not by phone or email). Stretched out divorce forever. I felt like a student in a university class of 300 and the teacher didn't even know my name. Would NEVER recommend Poppe to ANYONE.

Teri is a great person and the receptionist is wonderful! Communication is horrible:( Paperwork never gets done. I am very disappointed. He would have done great in court however, he needs to stay on top of everything before court.

I had to fire him. he wasted my time and money, missed dead lines, gave bad advice, he is rude & arrogant. he will not return your calls and neither will his assistant. very disappointing experience.

I like terri a lot but the staff cindy, peggy to receotionist, all make promises of paperwork being done but truthfully the work is not submitted and comments made as, "who do think you are" because we haven,t filed things for people for 2 years. Great in court , horrible with completing divorce documents.

Short or incompetent staff is no excuse for bad service which was the immediate response when asked why correspondence isn't being sent out. Obviously they have a compensation or management issue that is creating turnover problem. They keep up on billing but fall short when it pertains to sending out copies or letters expressing the results of their work. Failure to return calls reflects poorly on Mr. Poppe.

Never returned a call and seldom returned an email in 2 years. spent $10000 and he never had enough respect to reply to any message left for him. Can't imagine running my business the way he does. His assistant Cindy is mean and makes you feel like you are a ignorant, horrible person.

Terry is rude and inconsiderate but even worse he gets walked all over constantly. He will tell you anything to get away with your money and not take responsibility for his lies. DO NOT HIRE POPPE OR HIS FIRM

Totally worthless!!! Was charged 200$ to send a 30 second letter and was trying to pursue a contempt of court filing for my visitation rights being violated by my sons mom. I stressed the urgency but was charged for calls to just ask when they were going to file. Had to go in a different direction with a lawyer cause the office was worthless and went a month without assisting me. Now I'm stuck with a $200 bill for pointless phone calls to a legal assistant who didn't know crap and a threatening letter to my ex that was written in 30 sec advising to pursue contempt if visitations were continuously violated.

Terry may know the law but the process was unnecessarily slow. He NEVER returned a phone call and his secretary was very snippy. I will not recommend him to anyone if they have issues that need special attention or just need the basic divorce.

Terry did a wonderful job...We had a very complex unique case. He exceeded our expectations of what we thought could be settled on. He was always very compassionate and understood exactly where we were coming from...We can never repay him for his patience and compassion.

Terry is very honest and up front about what to expect and what is fair. His staff is very helpful. He understood and most of all listened to my needs and what I wanted. He is incredible in the courtroom. My case was very complex and he was able to get the facts to the judge when the other side was trying to distort the truth. I would very highly recommend him to anyone in a high conflict divorce situation

I have been trying to get divorced for two years if you want to lose everything go to terry poppe!!! I had to fire him!!!! Cindy Pope accidentally sent me an email where she is referring to me as the B word made bar complaint also suing for malpractice!!

Terry Poppe did nothing that was asked of him. He did what he wanted to do, with no reguard to his clients wants or needs. He does not return phone calls, nor keep his client in the loop as to any changes made by the judge. Overall, worst experience of my life. Would have had better luck representing myself.

Knows his stuff, but you can never get a hold of him or get him to return your calls. His assistant is extremely rude, and she makes you feel like she doesn't have time to bother with you. Very expensive!!!

Terrance Poppe was my Lawyer for 5 years and in my opinion he is one of the very best. He is aggressive, very competitive (he won every time we went to court) and I would highly recommend him to anyone who is in need of a Great Lawyer.

Came highly recommended from everyone I talked to. Charged 500 more than any other lawyer for service. Hired on May 2 2010 last heard from on May 17 it's now mid August when ever I call all I get is he'll call you back later today, three months of the same answer is definitely no way to run a business. If you want to throw money away and lots of it and like getting angry then here's the lawyer for you if you want someone do do their job that you paid your hard earned money for keep looking elsewhere

This was the most unreliable attorney I ever used. He does not keep you informed, his staff is rude and their just not honest people.
