Mr. Hoffer is simply one of the best attorneys around. He is intelligent, hardworking, and dedicated to getting the best result for his clients, of which I am proud to say I am one. On my case, he mapped out a plan of action, implemented it, and got me the result I was looking for. While no attorney can guarantee results, he was honest with me about the strengths and weaknesses of my case, and what I could expect to get as a result. I would strongly recommend him for your matter in the future.

Buyer BEWARE!!! Typical take your retainer, do NOTHING Lawyer. He is "LAZY" always unprepared, and does not care one bit about his clients. Don't believe the 5 star ratings, I am sure that is family for friends only. This guy should not be able to practice, Because he does not Practice anything, just steals retainers.

I had the misfortune of employing a very well known law firm in Ventura county to help me through one of the worst times of my life and to my dismay I was robbed of my custody and my money both of which I worked very hard for, and to watch them taken from me due to lack of knowledge and diligence was flat out discouraging and wrong. After losing in court three times due to lack of preparation and courtroom knowledge I fired my attorney and found one of the best attorneys if not the best attorney in Ventura county by the name of Jeffrey Hoffer. This man picked up my case which was literally in pieces and put it back together piece by piece. I went from a very minuscule hours of weekend visitations to 50/50 joint custody. Not to mention turning the tables on child support. This attorney worked his butt off in and out of court for me. I have and still do recommend him to anybody who needs an attorney who knows his way in court and works for his client not his pocket book.

Jeffrey Hoffer poorly handled my divorce and was rarely accessable. He charged me a $5000 fee and refused to return any of the money when I fired him for lack of work on my case. Beware aware that his retainer is not refundable, something he did not mention when I retained him.

Prior to Jeff, I worked with several other attorneys & my case amounted to little more than self-aggrandizing posturing on each side- a high price path to nowhere. I was lucky to even get a call back from prior counsel, was losing nearly every issue raised, and never once went before the judge in over a year of litigation. While I by that point had amassed significant disdain for attorneys, I ultimately decided I had little left to lose by having a consult with him. This turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Jeff took a genuine personal interest in my case. He worked with me directly– no paralegals, assistants, junior counsel, etc. He is an excellent communicator, is highly experienced, and consistently provided sound strategy & advice. He takes pride in his results and has truly turned the tide for me. If a settlement is possible, he’ll get it done. If not, Jeff will get your case to court and deliver. I used this attorney for a simple divorce, no kids involved and short term marriage. He did a very poor job and frankly cost me money because he was untimely on his work and I could not get hold of him as he did not return calls or emails. He was very unprepared and I ultimately fired him. I am pondering a malpractice case. Do not use Mr. Hoffer unless you enjoy wasting time.

Jeffrey Hoffer, first of all.... I am not only thankful but I am very lucky to have found an attorney that actually knows what he is doing and does a great job. Jeffrey’s fees are upfront and he won’t nickel and dime you during the whole process. He is the type of attorney that you can put your trust into and know that he is really doing the work for you. I can't thank him enough for everything that he has done for me and my children. Jeffrey helped me through a very emotionally difficult divorce. He really focused on solving the outstanding issues and was sensitive to my request not to make a bad situation worse by fighting with my ex. It took a little longer to get done because of my requests, but in the end I ended up with a fair and healthy divorce. When he needed to be tough he was and knew just the right amount of pressure to apply to get the agreement just right. I highly recommend him to all who are need good counsel on divorce.

I had very high hopes when I hired Mr. Hoffer to represent me in my divorce case. However, after struggling for him to act in my divorce case for over a year, I have found him unresponsive. He does not submit documentation or take actions on things in my best interests. I feel he has thrown in the towel and that is not a good feeling to have for the person who is suppose to be representing you. He does not return phone calls and takes no initiative. He only plays offensively, if at all. He has not billed me in over a year. I have had to correct, several times documentation on financial info eventhough he was provided that info in writing previously. My first hand opinion is that Mr. Hoffer makes a better salesman than Attorney, since he promised me the world and delivered nothing. I do not reccomend this attorney. Find another and keep your sanity! This is unfortunate, but true.

Jeffrey worked very hard for me and obtained an extremely favorable support order against my ex-husband, who does a great job of hiding money and assets. He did an outstanding job of finding his income and getting me the child support I deserve. I could not be happier.

Jeffrey Hoffer is a terrible lawyer. His knowledge of family law seems to be adequate but his communication is awful. He doesn't respond to email or telephone messages promptly (if at all). He has mum in the courtroom and doesn't do what you tell him to. I would avoid him if I were you.

Mr. Hoffer has provided me with excellent representation, he is very knowledgeable with all aspects of Family Law and Divorce. I had minimum visitation with the kids and now I have joint legal custody thanks to his expertise and knowing Family Law.Mr. Hoffer has been very tenacious in court, he has excellent work ethics and values his clients.The opposition is currently on attorney number four, thus proving the quality of Mr. Hoffer's representation. Mr. Hoffer has always been available to discuss any matters that arise at anytime. I highly recommend Mr. Hoffer's services especially if your dealing with a very scorned opposition.
