My wife's immigration problem was unique, and I hired this lawyer to walk me through the legal process obtaining her citizenship while we were living overseas. My case was rejected by USCIS by no fault of the lawyer, but I was very disappointed by the lack of research or information the lawyer put into my case. I asked on several occasions if my case could have any potential problems and didn't receive much feedback. I spent a few hours sifting through the immigration laws (after the USCIS appointment) and found specific references to why my case should be rejected. Knowing this information ahead of time would have saved me thousands of dollars because I wouldn't have flown my family to the US, spent money on an expensive lawyer, or taken my only vacation for the year in a place I didn't want to be. A good lawyer should know the laws, research them when the laws are not clear, and advise clients about their chances of success.
