I utilized this law firm in 2011 after being served by my ex-wife to revisit custody and child support issues. I hired Jay McCown specifically because I thought a male attorney (from the Father's Rights Law Firm) would battle for me. I met him for our initial consultation and then one other time to be informed by him that my attempts at boundaries with my ex made me look anti-social. I was then told my case was going to be handed over to his assistant (with whom I never met). The evening before my court hearing I was advised that another attorney would meet me 10 minutes before my case was to be heard and was provided with a brief description of the new attorney who would be representing me. Needless to say, this new attorney was not prepared with the details of my case. That day, I lost shared parenting and as a result my child support was increased by almost 800%!!! My visitation was slashed to 4 days per week and I just got notified that I still owe them money from 8 years ago!

I am appalled at the comments on this site and I am suspicious that they may be not authentic. I am a real, live client of both Jay and Tamra Spradlin. I have been in a lengthy divorce/custody battle for over seven years and have had other attorneys. I am extremely experienced in this area. I give both Jay and Tamra Spradlin the highest possible rating you could give. We have won multiple hearings over the last several years. I had my visitation increased from 40/60 to 50/50. I have received counsel, advice and references that have improved me as a father. Jay and Tamra are different, but this difference serves them well and balances your strategy. They are extremely trustworthy, honest and probably the hardest working attorneys you will ever meet. I had high hopes to get a favorable outcome in my fight for my rights to visitation with my daughter. Not only was I disappointed, my rights to visitation was suspended by the judge without even a murmur of objection from my attorney. Jay Mccown and the firm she represents were to charge my ex-wife with contempt of court but decided against it evidently. I was passed off the other attornies from the firm and was charged prep time for them to get up to speed on my case and then to top it all off they made agreements with opposing counsel to have judge settle the journal record without even notifying me for my input. Throughout the entire time I thought they represented me I would call hundreds of times to talk with attorney only to be told they are in court or out of office and would never get a call back. I went to court and found I had no representation and found out through the judge they already made a deal. They even threatened me with a contract that was never signed by me

Absolutely agree with the other poor ratings of this fool -- MCCLOWN !! Never meet such a CLOWN in my life. The most incompetent attorney in OKC.

In my opinion these lawyers (Ms. Spradlin and Jay McCown) advocate divorce so that they can capitalize on the custody battles between parents. I would suggest that this Firm not be recommended or used.

He and Tamra A.Spradlin looks like very reliable and proficient attorneys during first appointment. So I chose the FATHER'S PARENTAL RIGHTS LAW CENTER. A month later they didn't do anything. Very poor communication, never answer e-mails. They weren’t able to establish child visitation schedule. I almost lost my case by default... I don't know what these guys are doing but if you are going to work with them you definitely will lose time and money for nothing. I changed attorney and Tamra didn't contact me to figure out what happened and she didn't return me retainer fee. Another attorney did all job for a THREE days! RUN from the FATHER'S PARENTAL RIGHTS LAW CENTER. RUN!!!

This so called lawyer likes to use threats and intimidation. Him and his partner, Tamra Spradlin have no real concern for anything but money and will do what is in their best interest instead of their clients. My advice is to stay away from both of them. Run, Run.as far away as you can from them and their firm.

I hired an attorney with Jay McCowns firm, Lindsey Kanaly. I had to threaten to file a grievance with the State Bar Association to get my refund of my retainer back. Then after I did they sent me a 25 dollar retainer, we were told she didnt charge for any phone calls and mysteriously were charged for them to eat up the retainer. DO NOT USE THIS LAW FIRM!!!! Unless you want to throw your money away....
