I have serious questions with the bad ratings of Ms. Speilman wonder if they were actually written by actual clients but my experience is exactly opposite. She is VERY knowledgeable and if there is something she is uncertain of she researches it to become certain. She does not 'guess' she prepares and deals with the facts as they arise and was never once unprepared or 'off on a wild goose chase'. She knew what was likely to happen next and was always prepared. While I found her to be personable she was at all times the consummate professional. Her rates were extremely competitive and she NEVER strung my case out in any way for her own financial gain. Actually the opposite. Every question I had was answered in a timely manner and easily understood. She did not 'nickel and dime' me at every turn. I was encouraged to be actively involved so I knew what was going on at all times. I am extremely satisfied with Ms. Speilman in each of the values I received in each of the categories listed.

Extremely unprofessional. Will talk down to you and tell you that she doesn't think much of you even as you are paying her high hourly rate. She doesn't commit to you as a client and makes you feel like you have to prove your worth to her. It is all about her. Kind of opposite of how it should be.

I wouldn't recommend her either. She does return calls, but it feels like a lecture everytime you talk to her. And yes, she drags it out to bill more time. I felt like I knew more about how to handle things than she did. VERY EXPENSIVE.

Ms.Spielman initially appeared competent and knowledgeable and willing to do the right thing in our divorce. As time went on it became apparent that she was unnecessarily drawing out the process and going on wild goose hunts with the express purpose of lining her own pockets. She let her emotions get in the way and took things personally when that wasn't her role. Her role was to advise her client, not insight and "stir the pot" so to speak. Run very fast if you encounter this woman. She claims to be a collaborative attorney but she very definitely is not. She is very litigious and in the end she is the only party who wins. A word to the wise, think twice before choosing her as your divorce attorney.
