Heather Bissel is so stunningly sub-par I understand why her practice consists almost exclusively of court appointed clients. Sadly her incompetence further disenfranchises women and children who are in desperate need of the court's protection. She is terrified of facing other lawyers in court and persuades her clients to accept any offer made by the defendent's counsel. In a recent case in which she was the assigned lawyer for a battered mother and two abused daughters, she accepted a 'deal' from the abuser's high profile cut-throat attorney because, as she told her client, the attorney 'goes for the jugular' in trial. To avoid facing her own incompetence in litigation she exposed the woman and her children to ongoing threats and very real harm from the abuser. This family was forced to move away from the area to stay safe bc Ms Bissel could not effectively advocate for them in the justice system. IF YOU ARE ASSIGNED TO HEATHER, REQUEST NEW COUSEL!!!

Heather is incompetent in all aspects. She is very passive and will settle for any deal givin by the opposing party just so she can collect her check and not have to deal with clients. She is not timely with her pretrial prep time and shows up late or not at all for scheduled appointments. In a recent case she failed to help a female client who was battling for custody of her child with her ex-boyfriend who is known to practice beastiality. This man now has sole custody of the child. My advice to anyone who is looking for an attorney, stay away from this one!!!!
