I live out of state and paid Mr. Adler a retainer of $5,000 to review a number of trust documents related to my late mother's trust. He went through the entire amount just to read them--a few hours work. Not sure yet if his advice was correct. Then Mr. Adler tried to charge me $2,500 above the retainer to refer me to a CPA and a tax attorney, even though I had not requested any referrals. He has no paralegal, just a "personal assistant" (secretary) who talks a lot, tried to push me into litigation, and isn't very good. He would never speak to me on the phone, not once, but would have shown up at a meeting with his attorney friend and the CPA, to get his cut. Don't know what he's like as a litigator, thank God.
