Wow what an experience.i went to court without a lawyer and was told by the judge it was in my best interest to leave and get one.I found the son of this firm..wish I would have had his dad which is why I was there but was told he was to busy..I already did all the footwork with over 20 doctors so all he had to do was file..he called me the week b4 my case that he needed more information which I informed him if he looked in the file he would find it ..after making me get him the info again he was sorry it was there..he asked me nothing about my case till the day of my hearing..he showed up late and knew nothing about me but decided he would wing it..I ended up answering his questions in the court and thank God the judge could see that I was truly disabled..so after 15 min in court he charged me 6000 dollars and said goodbye..find anybody but him if you can’t do the case by yourself and u only need someone with a title to sit in the room

I went to see Gary Ficek 4 years ago when I was applying so disability. My appointment was 9:00 am. He came running in late at 9:30 . Claiming I was early. We all knew that I wasn't. His 1st question was " How are you supporting yourself" When I told him the amount of money that I had in the back. He then asked for $3,000 down & an extra $300 to get my medical records. He said to get the money & get back to him. I called the clinic & received my medical records free. I went back the following day & got my CD back from his secretary, I obtained a different attorney & within a few months I had the back pay deposited in my checking account minus the allotted portion to the attorney that I signed for. I felt he was taking advantage of me & we only discussed money & not my injury. Very bad experience.

I had the priviledge of Mr. Ficek representing me. Gary was very lazy an expected me to do his work. I had a very simple case but he freaked out about judge we had for our court date. A opening came 3 months early with a judge from out east he heard may be pretty soft so he told me we would move up. Court came Gary was unprepared as he was unable to get my surgeons letter that he claimed was critical . So fine we do the appeal, he makes me sign a new contrac taking 25 percent now, which I'm not happy about. Well let's just finish it then I said. We talk an have a meeting now an then an we both get our letters about the appeal date an process and I just thought Gary would do his Job. I get call one day and he tells me we didn't get our brief in. I said what do you mean we did not our brief in? He said we didn't get it in now we have go to the next highest court we can't bring in any new evidence it will be a lot harder so will have to start paying in cash. He called mon an quit. Cost me 4 yrs ssd pay. Great guy.
