I had to deal with Lister in 2023 as the senior partner of the law firm where i was getting family law service from one of his lawyers. He was broght in a meeting i had requested from my lawyer Cynthia Squire because she was charging for work she had not even done. Lister took over the meeting. He was rude, condescending, constantly cutting me off and not letting me finish my sentences. It was clear his objective was to intimidate me. He knew nothing about the issues i was raising. In 1h i was able to explain 2 of th 5 issues. He agreed to credit me for the abusive invoicing done by her lawyer, but refused to hear about the 3 others. I was essentailly told if i was not happy with that, I cold find another lawyer. During the meeting my lawyer barely said a word. Lister behaved like a bully. Had i recorded this video call he would have been severly sanctionned by the Ontario Law Society for his behavior, words and actions. A real disgrace for the proession.

Mr. Lister represented me at the Human Rights Tribunal. Both he, his associate and his assistant were clear in all communications regarding my file. The outcome was in my favour. He and his firm did not waste my time or theirs on frivolous billable communication. Mr. Lister is a shark and to have him on my side was nothing short of a brilliant decision, on my part! I would use his services again and I highly recommend others to this firm.

was straight up about my labour experience and said it woukld be an uphill battle. maybe not what i wanted to hear but he laid out the hurdles to overcome but said that to keep the costs down don't phone all the time. eventually he brought my case to the labour board and won. when i saw andrew in action it was amazing how he showed the board the wrong that was done to me and used several examples of case law to show this. without andrew's tenacity i do not know where my case may have ended. he is like a pitbull and fought tooth and nail for victory. he is straight up and yes may be expensive but so are other lawyers. if want the good results then you pay it is that simple unless you walk away and end up not fighting. i would recommend andrew always and would use him again.

I gave this firm a retainer of $1000 a year ago and they did nothing for me.

Mr. Lister assisted me in my labour matter when other lawyers would not even speak to me. I found him easy to talk to and his associate, Ms. Skowronski, was always available to speak with when Mr. Lister was out of the office. In the end I was extremely pleased with the settlement I was offered and subsequently accepted. I would highly recommend Mr. Lister and his firm to anyone with a labour/union issue! Keep up the great work!

I personally used Mr. Lister for my employment issue. I found him to be easy to speak to and extremely knowledgable. I needed someone to fight in my corner and he did just that getting me a settlement that I deserved considering the amount of time I spent with my former employer. I dealt with one of his associates for a short time while Andrew was busy in court and she was also very efficient and helpful. If I needed to speak with someone at his office I had no problem. His assistant, Vilma, is very helpful and was able to put my mind at ease when I got frazzled about my situation. I thank Andrew Lister and his amazing team for their hard work. If I ever need a lawyer again for anything employment related his firm will be my first choice.

A very experienced, knowledgable and ethical lawyer. Most of the complaints about him relate to communication but surprise, surprise, most lawyers are usually swamped to the head and communication mishaps are to be expected and if you top that off with personal losses/distress, in a world where 'it's me, me and I come first', you are bound to have disgruntled people, of course this is free forum and everyone can recount their experiences. Not all lawyers are as personable, approchable, dedicated and resilient as Andrew and that's something to keep in mind.

He did not follow through in timely manner. Was not focused on the issues. I did not feel that my issues were at all important to him. Did not feel at all comfortable with him. Would not refer him.

Mr. Lister was very quick and efficient. He is very knowledgeable in what he does. I was dreading using a lawyer because I don't think much of them, but I was pleasantly surprised by his easy going nature and the fast results we got.

never returns calls. Passes important stuff off to assistants. Have to repeat stuff. My husband made a big mistake using him.
