Of course being a criminal defense lawyer you know he is slimy, However he is of the slimiest I have ever met. I am a wittness in a DV case and he is representing the defendant. He has called me and questioned me as if we were in court which I felt intimidated, He has warned the defendant about when he has warrants even tho he is considered a flight at risk and they prosecutor kept that info private so he wouldn't know because he is a flight at risk. He tried to manipulate me as well being the victim on the case. He likes trials and were about to have one. He's great for getting dangerous people out of awful things knowing they are guilty but he is an evil human being.

Very bad lawyer dont hire him for any type of federal drug case forget about it save your money ...still have this lawyer for my brother he wants a court appointed lawyer instead of this man .... he will try to incrimanate you and your loved ones even more than what they are in there for... very rude after he takes your money ... talking to him is like talking to the feds a little worst than that

Carl Cornwell is an excellent attorney. He fought our son's legal battle and WON! He's not afraid to fight in the courtroom and he stands up for what is fair and just. He doesn't fear the prosecution, he doesn't back down. Carl was referred to us by a family friend and we have no regrets. We highly recommend this attorney!

Do not listen to the two bad reviews on this site. Carl is an outstanding lawyer (some people are just guilty and no one can help them!). Carl is an outstanding lawyer and a really nice guy. I was looking at a long prison sentence - over 10 years - but Carl believed in me. Carl took my case to trial and the jury came back with a not guilty verdict. I called lots of attorneys before hiring Carl and he was the only one willing to take my case to trial.

I have attempted to resolve an issue with this attorney with no results. He has excuses and is trying to buy time by not doing what he says he is going to do. Do not hire this guy for any legal issue.

He is the worst lawyer I ever met. My boyfriend has been in jail for almost two years. All Cornwell tell us he is waiting to talk to the proscuter. I have to call him 20 times a day because he won't call you back. My boyfriend has to write letters to the judge before Cornwell responds. I hate his guts. He never went over my baby rights, charges, never came to see him nothing. He wont do anything for him. Cornwell was appoint to him by the courts and treat him like****. BAD BAD BAD lawyer stay away from him!!!!

This guy is considered the best in the Johnson County area and it becomes apparent after you meet him. He has a reputation as a pitbull and he loves to goto trial, he enjoys it. In my case he just absolutely devastated the prosecutions case but did it without bullying the witnesses and they did not know what hit them. He is not the least expensive but I found out he will take his clients circumstances into account when setting his fees. He is also too damn honest, he has been known to literally chase his own clients down if they skip bail or run and once he chased his own client down the street outside the courthouse because the guy fled his own trial. He will not lie for you, he has too much integrity and that is important since it it also assures you he will not try to screw you. If you have an issue, he is worth meeting when picking your lawyer.
