Ms. Mahar does NOT act in the best interest of the child. She works her own agenda, according to her own prejudices and biases. Instead of staying neutral to best advocate for a child, she tends to befriend one parent. She does not check in on the child, at all. She actively pressures DCS to close neglect cases, b/c of her friendship w/ the mother (the one neglecting the child). She should no longer be practicing.

Corrupt. Partakes in deformation, lying to the judge’s face, lying in bed with other CORRUPT DCS workers, and steals abused children for the abuser. Unethical. Mental issues. Threatens people who tell the truth. May God have mercy in her soul come the true JUDGEMENT Day.

Social Work and Community Service have been my work for 25+ years.I have met several very dedicated people in the course of my work. Sherry Mahar is the definition of dedicated to her clients, whether she is Court appointed or being privately retained, she gives tirelessly of her time, energy and resources. Many times, she has made all the difference, in a positive manner, in assisting a child's voice to be heard in Juvenile Court or Chancery Court. When she represents petitioners, parents or other concerned adults, she gives her all to support their case before the court. In reading ratings, she seems to have been accused of "knowing the judge", how untrue, There are multiple magistrates and judges she appears before. There are many cases heard each day in these multiple courts. Her conduct is professional, she knows her cases, she prepares for Court and she goes to see her clients! She is in court during business hours and then more hours nights and weekends. I would gladly hire her!

She will rip your heart out she is friends with the judge. I'm glad some people had good experiences. That tells me she is flip flop all through her cases. I believe she needs a mental assessment and possibly a and D. This woman does not care about the families she cares about her opinion. She will steal your soul like a demon in the night. She talks about her cases while she is signing in. She's worked with them long enough to get her way. She will bully the caseworker to get them to say what she wants. We'll make it up here she is doing something for you. In all reality she is playing you like a fiddle she has her own personal issues going on. I'm very sorry for her loss but that is no one's fault. She gets emotionally attached and cases but not in the good way. She will let your children suffer. I believe her goal is to get you to kill yourself if you are in any type of recovery because she wants to go after the clinics or it makes her feel better about her own situation. This woman

Sherry Mahar is by far the BEST Guardian ad Litem that I have ever come into contact with. I have worked for Sherry and I know first hand how hard she works and how many hours she puts in to ensure that these children get permanency. I was in foster care from the time I was three to thirteen. Unfortunately, I did not have Sherry as a GAL. However, If I would have I KNOW that it would not have taken ten years to get me permanency. I would also like to point something out! Notice that all of the people that dislike Ms. Mahar are on the losing side! The reason they do not like her is because when Ms. Mahar set her mind to taking care of these children, she did! She puts in the hours and sacrifices more that she ever has to! Some may ask why she does this. It is simple! She loves what she does and she puts her heart and soul into every case she has. She not only does what is best for these children but she loves them, cares for them, and most of all fights for them when no one else will!

Sherry Mahar is terrible and will break the law for her own good. If she decides that someone is doing something wrong then no matter what other people say, what evidence is presented to the contrary she will not care. She actually put my children in danger in order to force her agenda. If she would put that tenacity to use for justice, instead of her own agenda it would be great

Having been slightly involved with Sherry in a divorce proceeding for the last year or so, I am very glad she was appointed Ad Litem lawyer for the children involved. Her goal is for the protection and well being of the children involved. She is appointed to protect the children, not the parent. They have their own attorney. One side or the other will not be satisfied with Sherry's work, but you can bet the children are better off because of her involvement. It appears that the previous writer, dated 10/12/08, was on the down side of the court decision pertaining to custody and visitation. Maybe Sherry showed the court what he truly was instead of what he thought he was. I think that witer's comments are a better testimony to how good Sherry represents her clients than anything else anyone could say. Take it as a compliment Sherry. So, if you are involved in a custody battle, ask for Sherry. your children will be better off because you did. If you can stand the heat.

Always easiest to attack the attorney than to take a HARD LOOK at your own behavior and how it contributed to the problems that brought you to the doorstep of the attorney to begin with!!!Family law is the hardest area of law in which to practice. Any attorney courageous enough to step into this forest fire has guts of steel. This bogus lawyerratings website is a perfect example of why these professional "ratings" web sites should be shut down. Anyone can post anything anonymously, make vicious unsubstantiated remarks and do so without any repercussions or consequences. Meanwhile, the victim of the post can only hope web editors are savvy and smart enough to delete any poison left behind. Usually the posts are not deleted. These review sites are worthless except for giving meanspirited hatefilled cowards a chance to vent their spleen. STAY AWAY FROM THESE REVIEW SITES!!!!
