I had a very bad experience hiring Barry Dryland as my lawyer. I felt he was disorganized - a key document that I sent to him misplaced also I felt he procrastinated which caused an unnecessary urgency. My advice would be to gain references prior to hiring a lawyer.

Barry Dryland always made me feel comfortable in a situation that was extremely stressful and emotional for me. His confidence, professionalism, knowledge and honesty helped me immensely and the efficiency he utilized gave me everything I had hoped for and more concerning my legal needs.

Mr Dryland is my lawyer and has been since 2009. He has been helping me through a very messy custody battle and would recommend him to anyone. I trusted him on a number of occasions where I doubted the direction in which we were going and every time we came out on top. I trust him implicitly and his knowledge of family law is current and extensive. He always answered my emails and phone calls within a reasonable timeframe (even if I bombarded him sometimes) and never made me feel like I wasn't his top priority. He represented me in court many times and was always professional and agressive enough to have rendered me the results that I looked for. He always looked out for my best interests and explained why he went in certain directions when I wanted to go another. He would meet with me when I wanted and was understanding to my emotions during this time. His hourly rate is average for the area. Billing came all at once in big chunks. Monthly bills would have been better but this was ok

Barry had to take over my case when my lawyer, Jim Rose, passed away. Barry did an excellent job of getting me exactly what I wanted and needed after separating. He returned every phone call and called me when there was new information that we needed to consider. He was on time to every meeting and court date and was very articulate in explaining to the judge just where I stood. Though Barry's billing was erratic, I knew that the final bill was going to be high just with the amount of times we had to show up in court. My ex is a procrastinator and had fired and hired his own lawyer and come unprepared to all of our court dates. When I told Barry that I needed an agreement by a certain date becaus I had to renew my morgage, Barry put all his skills to work and even though my ex still tried to procrastinate, Barry had an agreement for me at the end of that day. I am now able to move on freely without worry. Thanks, Barry!

Mr Dryland is a lawyer you should truly avoid. Doesn't return calls, waits till you rack up hundreds of dollars in emails. Very slow, and will definetly not represent you as his fee's show.. Stay away from this Gentleman.. Wasted a lot of hard earned money with absolutely nothing to show for..

Overall, apparently simple task took eight times as long as initially estimated.
Rarely completed tasks within estimated time. Bill huge compared to estimate. Insisted on meetings when email would do. Wasted my time. Seemed to sequence tasks in a manner which unneccessarily extended elapsed and billable time, despite my urgency.
