James H. Cooke, Jr., Esq., Fayetteville, NC. Please take my advise as a former client he will be detrimental to your case. In my case he did not do the necessary research on my behalf thereby placing me at a disadvantage from the on-start. He did not prepare for any of my hearings including pre-trial prep placing the prepared opposing party at an advantage. He will not prepare monthly billing statements ultimately resulting in a huge overcharged bill. His staff is ill prepared lack basic knowledge and very rude. I regret not doing my research before retaining him so I am warning everyone reading this note to do your research and you will find several complaints about his level of representation which in my case was the worse representation money can buy. If the opposing party has a good lawyer you are dead in the water. Before hiring him do your research honestly, you are better off being a Pro Se. This is my opinion and reflects my experience.

Between Cooke and his "help," I got the biggest SHAFT regarding my case that he basically "Sat On" for over 3 years. After I picked up all of the contents of my file: due to his Withdrawel; I noticed that his incompetent secretary put a lot of "other clients" documents in with mine. Also, DSS's attorneys sent him a 6 Page Interstate Custody File that entails Social Security Numbers, Background Checks, and other Sensitive Material involving mental status; that was "Supposed" to be about me because my last name was Handwritten at the top, but this 6 Page Document I found in my file is about another person and family. Just goes to show that James H. Cooke doesn't READ or LOOK-AT (ANY INFORMATION) that is supposed to involve his Client. By the way: Sending/Giving other peoples Social Service Information is deemed a Misdemeanor and I am in the Process of making sure that James H. Cooke and attorneys Bobbie Redding and John Campbell of DSS are Fully Held Accountable.
