Hired to represent during a DWI case, focusing on keeping record clear and professional. Hired her office for a hefty down payment since I was satisfied with first initial consultation and promises of professionalism, strong communication, and the fact that she would do her best to reduce the charge and get a good deal (plea bargain) due to her experience and years in the business. Wrong. I went out of town on business with her approval, and while out of town I received a notice that she was going to withdrawal from my case due to nonpayment (I had paid over $3500 at this time and we hadn't gone to court) and I was under the interpretation that she was working with me until I received my first paycheck from my new company. GET IT IN WRITING. I went out of town with my company and she put a motion to withdrawal. I called the office to renegotiate saying I had $1,300 right now to keep them on case. Legal secretary discussed decision already made. Poor communication, felt taken adv. of.
