Stephen Komie was so competent, considerate, and such a good advocate for my son who was facing cannabis trafficking charges. The mandatory sentencing laws in Illinois are draconian and Mr. Komie was successful in having the worst of the charges dropped in spite of the over-zealous efforts by the state's magistrate. When we had occasion to meet with Mr. Komie or speak on the phone, we were confident that we could not have secured a better attorney for my son. I highly recommend Mr. Komie without reservation.

Attorney had defendant sign over $100K bond while he was on medication for severe depression. Defendant and wife paid $87K cash to attorney over the course of (3) years. No pretrial or any motions were ever filed after deft signed CBR. Wife had no knowledge he signed this and continued to pay him begging him to end this for fear of husband's mental Deft took his own life a month ago and widow had to find out from attorney that he finally got toxicology report - deft was not **** and proceeded to take the bond money that wife borrowed from friends and family. Attorney never had to show statement to widow showing how he spent the $87K and why he kept asking for more money when he knew that deft had signed over bond. Last payment of $25K was tendered to Attorney Komie on 7-31-15. Attorney did not show up for next 2 court appearances and deft took his own life. Attorney Komie showed up 2x this week to get bond money. Widow stated he already took one life, not willing to give hers
