You will not get your moneys worth. I had to hire a second attorney to represent me and the other attorney was intelligent, hard working, and fought for me. Carole was not prepared or knowledgeable about my case when we went to trial. She was constantly flipping through the files I gave her during the trial and seemed to be at a lose at what information she needed to defend me. Please consider the latest reviews of Prater and don't hire her by her past reputation.

I have used this law office three times now, I have no complaints. One for my divorce and twice for modification issues. Yes, they are a little pricey but you get what you pay for. I have never had a problem with getting my questions answered in a timely fashion. I love Carol and her daughter Elisabeth they are both amazing lawyers. They are both very knowledgeable and helpful.

Had a very bad attitude. Took my money and did nothing but make unprofessional comments. She said women shouldn't be awarded custody if they are in the military.

Totally incompetent and unprofessional. If you're a male look for a different family attorney. She practices unethical behavior and never returns emails, phone calls, or answer client questions. I do not know who she was working for after I paid $5000 (non-refundable) retainer - it was like she was working for my wife not me. She used to be good ten years ago but now she is a joke. Look for another lawyer and law firm.

She could care less about you as a persons. Money is the only things she is looking for. It yook my case over 3 years and almost $40,000. She never returned myhe phone calls (which was less than 5) in the 3 years. Do not use this Lawyer not the value for what you pay. Pleased believe me not worth $325.00 an hour. Treats you like you worked for her.

Best family law attorney in the area if not the state. She knows her stuff. But, I agree, she is very expensive (you get what you pay for). And they could do much better in the communication department. One final thing, there are good lawyers and bad lawyers. Carol Prater is an great attorney, but, your attorney can only do so much. They depend on you to help make your case.

Unprofessional, instructs staff to "gatekeep" her schedule. Extreme lack of communication within her firm as well as communicating with client. Doesn't follow up. Advising is slim. Value is less than adequate for what she charges.
