Can’t rate on knowledge because she failed to represent me. She displayed negligence, flawed integrity and lacked representation that affected my livelihood. I filed a grievance with Mobile & Alabama Bar Association, after their investigation she was reprimanded privately. After reading other ratiers’ comments, it is clear more should have been done ??????

I have know Deborah since she represented me in my divorce, back in 2000. I found Deborah to be very professional as well as very knowledgeable. If I were pinned with my back up against a wall and in need of another attorney, today, I can honestly say that I’d be calling Debbie McGowin! I find these previous comments to be false accusations towards Deborah McGowin, in fact, I’m sure it’s just an upset institutionalized convict, who’s mad because their expectations were too high, being that they’re a repeat offenders, etc. Just because you hire an attorney, doesn’t always mean that you’re going to walk free. In some cases, you do the crime, you do the time, with or without an attorney! Sincerely, Brian Calhoun

Ms. McGowin was my public defender & she never did anything she said she would do nor anything I asked her to do. 2 days prior to my plea date she calls me & just says the DA went down from 50 to 40 years, just like that was nothing. I realize its not her life but this woman was supposed to be representing me, not sending me to prison for life. She wont return phone calls or emails until 24 hrs before your court date. I realize I'm an addict & have been in trouble quite a bit, but this lady nearly caused me to take my own life. I became very suicidal at the thought of dying in Tutwiler Prison & she couldn't care a less. She made me feel like this is what I deserved. I'm so glad I went to another attorney because everything he said we needed to be doing was what I had asked her to do 4 months prior. Please pray for me, anyone reading this. Addicts do not need to be in prison, they NEED HELP. I've been clean now 2 & half years. If you're an addict, don't hire her. she doesn't like us

This Attorney took my payment OF 663.00 and did not give me my divorce i payed for. I payed for a contested divorce and to have my ex husband served and got NOTHING I AM GOING TO REPORT HER TO THE ATTORNEYS BAR ACCOCIATION.DONT USE THIS LAWYER IF YOU DONT WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF.
