Phil Castrovinci was incompetent and under prepared for my trial.Not only did it cost me $30,000 for the same result if I had represented myself,I was forced to pay the OPPOSING lawyer $7,500 due to Phil’s negligence.The Judge wrote us saying,I had to pay opposing lawyer's fees because we failed to file a Statement Of Net Worth, as Phil failed to do so.
Not only was I refused custody of my 14 year old son, who was begging to live with me, I was somehow forced to pay over $10,000 in ‘retro’ child support when I had paid, in full and on time, what I was required to by law up until the trial. I watched my ex and her lawyer commit perjury. I had, in my hands, proof they were lying and Phil’s response was, “It doesn’t matter”. You’d think someone who just got annihilated in court would want to present evidence of perjury.
Hire at your own risk. You’ll quickly see his only concern is getting paid.
Also on another site their family members have left 5 star reviews. Don’t trust!!!

I have had Phil and his staff help me with custody and child support issues since my son was three months old and he is now sixteen years old. I have had nothing but positive and amazing experiences with Phil himself as well as his staff. I don't think that I could have gotten through some of this drama and trauma without his help. I think that last week all of this wrapped up once and for all. The outcome was far better than I had ever dared hope for. I actually said to Phil that once again he had performed a miracle for myself and my son. To use anyone but Castrovinci and Mady for something as important and life changing as what they do is just foolish. Can't recommend them enough!!!!

Phil and his staff were able to guide, advise, support and successfully untangle me from one of the most stressful situations in my life. Early on I learned to listen to Phil's advice and just completely and utterly TRUST him. His expert advice is always in the client's best interest. Anyone who is unhappy with Phil's services would question me to believe if that client actually listened to Phil's advice or just argued with him instead. Phil is a legal veteran and extremely fair and a good person. His priorities are in the right place and I have never experienced not receiving a callback from him whenever requested. His staff is so professional, knowledgeable and supportive I had most of my questions dealt with in the initial interaction. Reputation vs. Reality. I was NOT impressed with him or his staff. Calls were not returned and papers (EVIDENCE) went missing. Watch your bills, too!! Very creative billing practices. He's the type of guy who gives good lawyers a BAD name. Run.. don't walk.

This attorney only cares about your money,as long as you pay he will keep you as a client but pass you off to his associates.He is rude and does not return a call -unless you have lots of money.Worst mistake I ever made.

Never returns phone calls and if they are returned they are by other members of his staff because he doesn't take the time to do it himself. His advice about certain aspects of my case turned out to be entirely untrue, a fact I realized after consulting with another attorney. Overall, completly unsatisfied although his staff is extremely helpful.

Nine years and three lawyers later, through the careful research of a knowledgeable friend, I was led to Castrovinci&Mady. My case was both unusual and complicated - and my lawyer-fatigue huge. Almost entirely resigned to the thought that I would never see a timely or reasonable conclusion -- or an attorney I would ever think to recommend or maintain in my address book, I am happy - no, thrilled - to say, my case has come to a more than reasonable conclusion, and within a timely manner since being placed in the hands of Mr. Castrovinci. He and his firm, were excellent in terms of stirring this complicated case through the messy system that is matrimonial and family law, always professional - and, kind - reasonable as far as billing and fees. As with many people going through a divorce, it was a very emotional time for me. While I knew that divorce was my only option, it was not something that I really wanted to do. I hired Castrovinci and Mady to handle not one, but two cases. At first everyone seemed competent, but BEWARE!! Every single complaint written here has also been my experience. They are the gang who can't shoot straight - something as SIMPLE as a mailing address is a stretch for this office. Important notices and Time Sensitive documentation were either NOT sent or sent to the wrong address; questions were not answered, calls were not returned, appointments were routinely broken or rescheduled. They are rude, acting as if YOU WORK FOR THEM !!! Needless to say, they mucked-up both cases, trying to cover their tracks. When I realized this, I was'fired" leaving me over 17K in debt and without a lawyer the day before a deposition !!! When I finally got my files back, I learned the scope of their incompetence: I discovered missing evidence, and dozens of MUST HAVE notices and decisions never sent. Let us not forget there 'creative accounting' RUN !!!!

I had an on-going case due to my x-husband's 6 attys. After firing my 1st lawyer for incompetence I interviewed many lawyers. My 1st consult w/Phil made me feel that this was a lawyer that would aggresssively & honestly keep my wishes & needs 1st & his ego second - ego is necessary if you want a lawyer to win a case! He made me 1 promise upon hiring him. I was pleasantly surprised when he delivered that promise shortly thereafter. I have respect for him & we continued as a team. You have to work w/your lawyer & his staff.His staff is professional & patient. At the end of the day, he LIKES to win so that is to your advantage. We were thrown many curveballs but when it was time to settle,I was being stubborn-he reminded me of my main objective & he was getting me that as part of the settlement. People are quick to complain, either by letter writing or harsh words, but it is rare that beside the spoken thank-you, written card or basket of fruit the thanks are not publicized. I have read a few "reviews" that have left me skeptical as to who actually wrote them. Was it a client or is it just an attempt at a smear campaign? I was referred by a family member who could not stop raving about Phil Castrovinci and his staff. My (ex) husband had a few different attorneys during the process an at times it got quite ugly, but Phil would reassure me not to worry it would be okay and it always was. Of the dozen or so people I referred to Castrovinci & Mady, not ONE was dissatisfied and many of these people referred their friends and family to this firm too. I know that Phil and Matt get most of their clients from former client referrals and I know personally that these clients are very happy with this firm because I still get thanks.

$6000 retainer which goes at the rate of $1000 per month. Court judgement for another $7000 and I am now representing myself. Complete waste of money ... will drag your case out until he realizes there is nothing left to collect.

This attorney is totally not worth the money nor the time to handle any case. He does not return any phone calls, no matter how imperative it is the matter of which you need to speak to him, he doesn't return any emails either. His staff constantly shields his phone calls, say they will give him the message and you never hear from them or him again and then they give you an attitude when you call back asking that you need to talk to him about your case. He is always more for the opposing side to make his job easier and gives everything and anything to the opposing attorney so that he doesn't have to fight making his job easier. He likes berating and belittling his clients (favorite derrogatory term -****) totally inappropriate,and intimidating you into complying with whatever he feels you should accept even though it might not be in your best interest. He becomes arrogant and pompous and members of his own staff and other clients advised me not trust this attorney. Should have liste

His communication skills are very porr. He was constantly berating me and finally he dropped my case in the middle of the proceedings.He was almost impossible to reach when I wanted to discuss the case with him.
