I never have a problem with Tonya Peterson. My first impression with her validated her caliber in her profession. For me she is a brilliant Atty. Her staff are very welcoming. In my opinion no such thing that you can pleased everybody. Some are happy and some are sour grapes especially if they did not get what they asked for. In this life - Some win and some lose. I will definitely recommend her ….

I recommend Tonya if you are in need of a divorce attorney. Tonya knows Florida Law. She is nice to work with, confident, and is great to have on your side. Angela does a great job handling all behind the scenes office management too!

You know she is the best lawyer in town, when you’re served divorce paperwork and a lawyer friend recommends her! True story!!! She fought for me and did not allow my ex-wife’s attorney walk all over me and was a step ahead of her. I felt super comfortable with her firm and they were always welcoming. If I would end up being I. The same situation again, I’d 100% hire her again.

Mrs. Petermann as well as her office staff was instrumental in me retaining custody of my child when I was losing everything. She is very straight forward, and will tell you what you need to hear. Not what you want to hear. I am truly grateful for the guidance, and patience I was given. I would definitely recommend them over previous representation.

Tonya, and her staff were the best! Dealing with a divorce, especially one involving a child, is terrible. Having a team that is knowledgeable and has your best interest at heart is wonderful. I cannot recommend Tonya, and her staff enough. Trust me, you need her in your corner when you go to court.

I've had to rely on Tonya and her staff 4 times over the last 6 years as I've dealt with custody issues, and she's never let me down. Easily the "most expensive friend" I'll ever have, but she's there to give a honest assessment of your case, and the possible ways it could turn out. Given my child's age, it's my hope that this will be the last time we have to use her and her staff...no offense :)

Tonya Peterman has been a blessing to our family. In The last five years I have learned #1. Never go to court without a lawyer. #2. Ever go to court without the best lawyer. She is steadfast, very knowledgeable and a fierce advocate.

Awful woman. She is rude, will not fight for your case. Did not submit ANY of the evidence i presented her for my case with the exception of a few reciepts. Her advice landed me with being in motion of contempt and refused to speak up in court acknowledging that i only acted on her recommendation. She lost my case and was useless in court. Financially it is a joke how much i paid her. Save your case. Save your money and run far away from this terrible woman. Her receptionist also told me i was going to get a refund of x amount for paying in bulk, and gave me nearly a $100 less than what i was promised. When i spoke up about this she said they don't keep change so i wouldn't be getting this money. These people are selfish, only in it to get paid, and are disgusting.

First of all, shame on me. This review is long over due. Tonya, sorry for my delay. :).
It's been more then a year since Ms Petermann and her team have represented me in my divorce battle. It wa a long uphill experience and I know that there is no way on earth I would have made it threw without Tonya and Angela and everyone else on her team. I look back now, I have full custody of my son and my life could not be better. Tonya and her team were always available and always answered my questions in a timely manner. And ALWAYS made me feel calm and confident after an atrack was made by my ex. I will always be thankful for Tonya, Angela and her crew. I would recommend her in a heart beat.

I switched to Tonya in the middle of my child custody case. I needed someone who wouldn't allow me to be pushed around or pressured into something. I knew immediately that she was the right choice. Honest, straight to the point, her confidence shoots through the room. This is exactly what I needed and what I received. It was a huge relief to be able to step back and have full confidence in her ability to protect us. Her entire staff was so helpful and kind. I will continue to retain her as needed.

Tonya Peterman was referred to me by a co-worker as an exceptional family law attorney as she represented his wife during their divorce (he said she’s an outstanding attorney and wished that he had retained her instead of his attorney). Personally, I found Ms. Petermann and her Staff (especially her paralegal Angela) exceptionally knowledgeable representing me during two divorces (included preparation of a prenuptial agreement that saved me substantial assets and going to court during the 2nd divorce). In both cases she and her staff provided very professional and frank legal advice to address my every concern. Questions (via email and/or phone calls) were always answered promptly (usually that day or within in a day or two). During one office visit, Ms. Petermann offered and then spent most of her weekend doing some priority work (pre-nuptial agreement) that had a short suspense. Thank you Ms. Petermann and staff!

I used Ms. Peterman for my uncontested divorce in Sept 2013 and was very happy with services rendered. Despite being geographically separated due to military service, I was able to maintain great communication with her office. Her legal assistant, Angela, was very helpful and always responded to my emails/phone calls in a timely manner (within a day). I would recommend her for a quick (6 months) uncontested divorce.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Mrs. Petermann is an amazing woman and a very dedicated attorney. I hired her for my divorce in 2011 and went to her again when my ex hired a lawyer to lower child support. I came in from out of town to be present for my mediation and Tonya wasn't feeling well but she came anyways. She went out of her way to get emergency treatment the night before in order to be there even though it would have been perfectly understandable if she had to cancel. She was on top of her game and took her time to explain everything I needed in great detail. I am extremely satisfied with her services and will go back to her if I ever need her for legal services again. Basically all you have to do is tell her what you want and provider her with the information she asks for and she will take care of you. I'M A VERY HAPPY CLIENT.

Hire Tonya if you're ready to move forward and get past whatever issue is causing strife in your life. She won't stroke your ego and tell you that everything is going to be alright, she's going to tell you exactly what your options are given your current situation. For my money, that type of straight-forward attitude is refreshing. Be up-front, honest, and forthright with her, and she'll be your best advocate.

I wish I could give Mrs. Petermann 10's! I came to Mrs. Petermann to represent me in my divorce. Her and her staff we so supportive when they did not have to be and answered my millions of questions without attitude. I did not expect responses right away as I knew I was not their only client, but I did receive responses in a timely manner. I would recommend Mrs. Petermann to anyone needing advice or representation for any family law matter because she is board certified in it... you wouldn't go to a an allergist to have a brain tumor removed, right!? Mrs. Petermann cared about my case and made me feel like she devoted all her time to my case even though my bill at the end certainly did not reflect that! Great value, and her tenacity is fierce!

Mrs.Petermann assured me she'd make my divorce disappear. She made me feel as if I'd be stress free & it would be all left in her hands. She got my $2500+ and then it all went downhill at a rapid pace. The staff at the Petermann office are rude and unprofessional. I had to constantly ask for updates because I was often times left uninformed for months at a time. She assured me things were being taken care of but I came to find out that was not the case. Her staff would request documents and I would deliver them as asked and they would lose them and then feel the need to harass me for more documents. This was a very stressful experience. I expected to get screwed by my soon to be Ex, but not by the attorney I hired to HELP ME! Watch your invoice. She will even charge you for her staff's errors.This woman shouldn't be recommended to your worst enemy. She'll screw you out of money so she can go put up another billboard & screw other members out of their hard earned money also.

Mrs. Petermann has had thousands of clients and obviously only a few have left her negative ratings. Usually only the unhappy leave ratings as they need a forum to vent and make others look bad. Mrs. Petermann does not sugar coat anything and tells you up front what she can and can not do for you...if you choose to proceed, that is on you. She told me what she could do for me and did just that. She and her staff are very efficient and professional. I would highly recommend her.

The divorce process up front sound nice and easy. $2700 will get you a divorce was stated by secretary. Her and her agency; unorganized, uninformative, overcharged, didn't share process, procedures, goals, delays, until I would follow-up. Staff would make mistakes on documents and I would get charged. She didn't provide guidance or answer all questions. This should have been a simple divorce that her and her staff made more stressful. Not Recommended. And I didn't want anything in the divorce that wasn't fair or moral, nor did I get anything out of the divorce, but a lawyer's bill that was over $2700.

At one point I couldn't tell if she was representing me or my soon to be ex. Wish I put that $3000 towards a better use. During mediation she was upset that it was taking too long because she wanted to meet her friend for lunch.

I wouldn't recommend her to someone I like. Looking through the other ratings they seem pretty spot on with the service I received too. I dont know what bothers me more, that she took my case knowing she couldn't help me, the money I spent on her services, or the time wasted. I don't know how she is over all, I just know what my experience was. I felt uninformed most of the time and if I emailed or called I might get a response the same week. Most of the time her assistant would talk down to me as if I was an imbecile. Frustrating at best.

Tonya Petterman is extremely qualified in Family Law. She is one of the few attorneys in Okalosa County that Speacializes in "Family Law Board Certification". If you don't know the difference- look it up. Tonya was professional throughout my family law process. The outcome was a success. A single father fighting for "primary full custody". She delivered on her word. She has been in the community for a long time and has important contacts. Her networking is another asset to her reputation. Look no further for Family Law. Grossi MG..:)

As a professional in the financial industry, this is by far the worst professional I have ever dealt with. I let this person handle my divorce, and she was absolutely NO HELP WHATSOEVER....I still have no idea what the heck I paid for...she told me she was "not a real estate attorney, not a CPA, not an options expert....all things that come into play during a middle class divorce..." Not sure what she actually specializes in...perhaps raping her clients for every dime they have during extreme emotional distress??!!

Dont use this person, She will charge you for everything under the sun plus all her mistakes she makes, she charged me over 800 dollars for paperwork were her paralegal misspelled words and made dictation error.. word to wise look somewhere else
