Mr. Herb is an absolute crook. While his knowledge of law may be adequate his interpersonal skills and billing techniques are atrocious. I highly recommend you DO NOT USE THIS ATTORNEY. There are other competent and friendly lawyers in the area providing all of the services that Herb claims to offer.

Mr. Herb's secretary Jan or Janet or Janice I forget her name was extremely rude when answering the phone, always made it feel like you are bothering her, the other secretary who answered phones was always very nice, Laura or Lauren. Sorry can't remember exact names because it has been a bit but Mr. Herb was extremely arrogant, made me feel "less than", charged $200 as a "consultation fee" just to come and talk to him about something that would have been taken care of in a 10 minute call. He refused to help me get a 302 expunged until I had $6,000 up front!! I hired another attorney who did it for half of that. There aren't many attorneys who do this, you really have to dig but that's why I'm sure Mr. Herb can get away with charging this because he knows it's a niche. My mother tried to use him for another matter (she lives close) and got stuck with his associate Attorney Winters an inexperienced moron who can't answer a question until he talks to Mr. Herb about it. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE

Pathetic!!! Charges thousands of dollars. Almost 8 years to nearly finalize our realestate and is still messing up our deed! Staff a daughter has a personality of a rock. She's rude and has zero knowledge of anything! Be aware if you get any settlement check or any fees from third party, your attorney fees add up to the penny of that check and he has it made payable to himself! Then the ball and bills start rolling again. If you have a complaint or due to his negligence to follow up on something that should have been done, he still charges you for any type of contact with him! Even though it could have been avoided!!! If he would only Do his job!!!

I hate to ever give anyone a bad review ever, but dealing with James Herb and his staff was a nightmare. He was very unprofessional. He charged thousands of dollars and other than filling out 2 legal forms, he did nothing else, actually leaving my family and I to do most of the leg work. His secretary was very rude and impatient. She was constantly late when asked to photo copy and send simple documents. I always felt as if I was bothering her anytime I'd call their office, which was rarely ever. James Herb also casually used the F word. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. And it was the coldest attorney/client relationship I've ever had to deal with. Many times I wished I could just get my money back and find another attorney. Save yourself thousands of dollars and the stress of having to do most of the work yourself anyway and hire a different attorney. ANY other attorney would be a step up. Absolute nightmare.

I went to Jim as I had an altercation with the owner of a bar in my neighborhood. Jim was extremely knowledgable, professional, and I had total confidence in his experience and judgement. Jim understood the mindset of the local judge and knew what to do to obtain the best outcome for myself. I highly recommend Jim!

I highly recommend Attorney Herb for his experience and knowledge, and the personal attention he provides you. After hiring a DUI attorney from a large downtown Pittsburgh legal firm specializing in DUI cases, I went to Attorney Herb for a second opinion. I was extremely frustrated with the first attorney as he did not provide the information and client relationship that I thought I was entitled to as a client. I went to attorney Herb for a second opinion and was extremely satisfied with the information and consultation that he provided.
