My divorce was an extremely bitter, lengthy and just all around the most painful process that I have ever experienced in my entire life! My cousin, a California divorce attorney himself told me, "considering the complex situation surrounding your divorce you're going to require an extremely knowledgeable and experienced family law attorney". He highly recommended and referred me to Jim Reape. I want to stand on top of the highest building and shout, "Jim Reape of the Reape-Rickett Law Firm is simply the most MAGNIFICENT divorce attorney EVER! His knowledge and performance while in or out of court was breathtaking. This man and his law firm are worth their weight in GOLD! If you or anyone you know is contemplating, or are already going through a divorce, you owe it to yourself to call and hire Jim Reape ASAP! Look, the truth is divorce SUCKS, and Jim Reape will help it suck less. I would very much recommend Jim Reape and his law firm to any of my family and friends!

Uses very poor judgement. Driven by status and money. Cares little about people and cases.

I hired Mr. Reape to represent me in a messy divorce. He did not give me an estimate of what the cost would be, as he claims he does in all of his ads. He did however tell me my Ex-Husband would be responsible for at least half of my legal fees, and he was well aware I could not afford much. I was also Pawned off several times to associates who know nothing about my case, while paying the Partner Rate. It took his office 2 years to finalize my divorce, as they continued my case several times, all the while racking up my bill. In the end, my bill was over $40,000, (much more than I made in a year at that time)and my Ex was ordered to pay only $5000 of my total bill. Mr. Reape did not object to this or fight for me. I have finally paid off the $40,000 bill, but am now paying off the $10,000 in interest his office charged me. They refuse to negotiate with me on the interest. Jim Reape only cares about his bank account. Beware, I would NEVER reccomend his office to anyone.

I wish I had seen this site before hiring Mr. Reape who also passed me on to an associate who not only was unqualified, but insulting. My ex stole 100's of 1000's from me and I provided proof. He lied on the discovery I had to pay for and they said there was nothing I could do. My oncologist wrote a letter they never used. I was called names like stupid & crazy because I'm emotional. They read my emails, charged me 1000s & then acted like I didn't give them information that I had to re-send and re-pay for. I had to fight to save my home, did and at the end they let my ex's power Lawyer write the whole settlement and it was worded to protect him in any possible event and nothing was in it to protect me. My father had to help me pay and he ran out of funds,so this associate and him agreed on a settlement and I was told by her that I would lose if I didn't sign it and w/out council. I was never protected and they didn't care. They got their money. I lost everything. Horrible.

I als had a high conflict case but found the team approach always allowed me to communicate and avoid costly mistakes. In taking the advice I was given I prevailed. No doubt the result would have been different if I didn't do as I was advised to do.

Mr. Reape if motivated by his bank account. He takes your money and then pawns your case off to an associate with no experience in high conflict case. The associate is allowed to bill at a parteners rate and has no clue about custody law. I would not refer anyone to this firm unless you want to fund his son's college educucation while you are filing bankrupt.
