We used Mr. Hastings to purchase our first home. It was a private deal and he was very knowledgeable about how to proceed with the offer (which he prepared for us) He even saw us on a Saturday so we could get our offer delivered. He made some suggestions that wound up saving us money. I was not going to use him based on some of these reviews however a family member had used him and encouraged us to speak to him in person to form our own opinion. I'm glad we did.

I just had to add my comment to the previous reviewer and obvious 'first time buyer' At one time or another we've all been first time buyers.It's stressful Most of us are on the ledge. Happily most of survive and others jump. By the sounds of things, the previous reviewer might have been a jumper. Mr. Hasting was the lawer who took care of us on our first house purchase and then several more that followed. He has also done the real estate legal work for both my grown children, two times each. Mr Hastings has helped me with other legal matters not associated with real estate law and did it kingly & willinging with no charge. Having know him for more than 30 years I know Mr. Hastings would never, talk down, never neglect, and most of all NEVER EVER LIE to one of his clients!! This is not,never has been nor ever will be Mr. Hastings.

Closed with him a number of times. He does operate on "Lawyer Time" but, so do all the other Lawyers I've ever worked with. He's patient and will listen and return calls. Just be clear on what you want and he'll work with you to get it done.

This guy is a peice of work! Any first time home buyer stay away! He lies, he is not empathic in the least and treats client like garbage. I had issues with the price, was told he would call me to explain and review he did not, also asked to have my appoitnment for signing my papers rescheduled the day of because "something came up"? when they said i could finally keep the appoitment they made me wait for him for 45 minutes! Also i was unable to obtain my keys on the closing date, this reason I am not too sure of because i was given 2 different reasons and while he was giving me these different reasons felt it necessary to talk down to me. If he specializes in real estate he shoud understand the stress associated with buying your first home. Please ask family and friends before chossing a lawyer.
