Absolute hacks. Bill Wigoda is a narcissist and his poor girlfriend, a business “partner” is spineless. They’ll run up their billing time and do nothing. They couldn’t even finish my divorce case in Illinois. They think they’re running circles around their clients. Their colleagues see them for who they are as well. It’s unfortunate that they missed their calling as bounty hunters. For anyone who has any questions about how bad they actually are- Google me. I’d be happy to share my story. John, an attorney at the law firm, is generally a good guy who is caught up in their shenanigans. I find myself praying for him. The other yahoos are helpless. Beware. This is not an angry client seeking revenge. This is a mother who lost her FOUR children because these lushes couldn’t get their heads out of their asses.

My attorney recommeded that Mr. Wigoda assist with my case and I was completely unaware of his reputation, but based on my experience, I would heed the warnings and poor ratings listed here. He is untrustworthy and self-serving!

I can't count the number of times Bill would tell me something I wanted to hear and follow it up with, "If you ever repeat it I will deny I ever said it." This man has no ethics, deviously creates turmoil and seems to have serious issues with women. Bill will email and meet with you, charge you for it, then send a long letter in the mail 'opining' over an issue and charges you for that as well. Everything you have read on this site is accurate. This man has no business representing children.

This guy DOES NOT CARE about anyone but himself!!! I totally agree with the other comments on this page. He lies and knows how to get away with it in court... everyone on this page that has issues with him needs to file an investigation with the IARDC (http://www.iardc.org/information/onli...) He does not belong practicing law!!! He filed for contempt of court against me when I could not pay him and they had the Sherrif sent after me rather than trying to garnish my wages. He will have the parents of the children he represents THROWN IN JAIL!!! Obviously that doesn't help the children. It only helps his pocketbook. He charges are phony and bloated... charged 100 dollars one instance for travel to courthouse and then 595 dollars for the same trip on another bill and becomes defensive when confronted about it. If you don't play nice with William Wigoda in he'll screw you.. especially if you challenge his billings! Do not let him near your case.

Would you trust your matter to a guy who has been censored by the ARDC - 2x? Would you trust your matter to a guy who has several tax liens (in excess if $240,000) against him? Would you trust your matter to a guy who is so focused on billings and himself that he will do whatever he can to serve himself before the needs of your matter? If these were all true, would you trust matter to a guy like this? Fabricates issues, not solution oriented, creates opportunity after opportunity to prolong the matter and overbill and does valueless, illegal and duplicative work. Bill is the biggest jag off, bully, money grubber I ever met. I would not go near this guy with a 10 ft pole!!!!

Better by far than these reviews suggest. Bill is expensive, but worth it. Has worked tirelessly on my difficult case with a litigious ex for years and got me to a good settlement every time. I'm male and raising my kid the majority of the time. Good place to be. Very available and responsive.

I agree with others comments. In addition to what was said above, in my opinion, he fabricates issues, creates unnecessary conflict, acts outside of his statuory scope and is unnecessarily combative (especially when you don't agree with him). In my opinion, he does have the best interest of kids in mind, unfortunately they are HIS kids. He never misses an opportunity to overbill and act outside his role and then threaten and taunt you when you disagree. I have spent more $$$ paying for Bill and his meddling than I have on my own lawyers. He should be removed as a child rep. In my opinion, he is abusive, adds no value, inserts himself where he is not needed and worse not allowed to be and is using the veil of IL law to support his otherwise fledging law practice. Avoid him at all costs. In my opinion he is a wolf in sheeps clothing.

William Wigoda is only interested in getting PAID! He represented my children and when I could not pay him as a result of having to move, he filed motions for contempt of court against me. I asked him to withdraw as a result of not being able to pay him, and he refused (said he was "at the pleasure of Judge Miranda") He did not make it known to any party how much he was charging ($395 per hour) until he sent out his bills. He sends out paper letters after paper letters and charges for his time to write them. The majority of what he does is writing letters. When asked to lower his rate and stop writing so many letters, he produced his "resume" attempting to validate his reasoning for charging so much. He has been disciplined twice already ( http://www.iardc.org/ldetail.asp?id=1... ). He told me that he would have this case wrapped up in 3 weeks. Now it has been 8 months and 10K dollars later. This has been an absolute nightmare!!! Never ever hire him!!! BEWARE!!!

He filed petitions he didn't pursue and billed me for them. He didn't send me a bill for the first 7 months of his representation and charged me an hourly rate in excess of the contracted rate. His first bill was sent shortly before the hearing date (which made it difficult to terminate my relationship with him). His subsequent bill was low, but the following bill added substantial charges from prior billing periods. He found out in the course of a deposition that he had provided my ex with the legal advice she relied in pursuing her claim against me. He concealed this from me. Subsequently, against my wishes, agreed with opposing counsel that my ex would not have to contribute to son's college expenses (an issue I hired his firm to represent me on) and that I would contribute more than I could afford even though my ex had almost twice the financial resources I had. He was extremely agressive in pursuing his fees. I feel as though I was scammed by this firm.

Wigoda starts off sounding like Robin Hood. Once the retainer has dwindled, he becomes another person. Difficult personality, selfcentered, and driven by greed. He does not listen to his clients. We should have checked his background before hiring. He has had situations that involved the bar assoiciation. We read his details on line, after the fact and discovered similar behavior.
