When I first received notice of my charges I was scared out of my mind. I called around to different attorneys and Paul Stanko was the first one who actually made time out of his busy day to meet with me that same day and give me the peace of mind that it was going to be okay. He did an outstanding job with my case and explained everything to be me as I had a lot of questions throughout the process. He was able to get me the best deal/outcome on my case. If you read the negative reviews, you’ll see that a common theme is LACK OF COMMUNICATION. This is absolutely true! I hired Paul for a case in December 2017. He kept postponing my court dates for OVER A YEAR. I was finally able to START my pretrial diversion program in April 2019. The program lasts a year so my case could have been dismissed by now if he had not postponed my case for over a year. It’s 2020 and I still have a few more months of pretrial diversion for a case from 2017!!!! I cannot stress enough how poorly he communicates. He does not have a receptionist so you always get sent to voicemail, which for the past two years that I’ve been his client has ALWAYS been full so you can’t even leave a message. I’ve also tried to reach him through email and text. Out of the dozens of texts I’ve sent, he’s rarely replied. He’s also given me erroneous information regarding the pretrial program, which leads me to believe he lacks the knowledge and competence to handle such cases.

After meeting with Paul on a OWI charge(1.7 bac) I knew he was the one I wanted to repesent me. He is a man of great honor and knowlage. Paul truly cared about me and was ab to take a OWI to a reduced reckless driving. Paul is well respected and fair. I owe this great man my life! I am so happy I cryed all day when he told me my charge was reduced! Now I can keep my job and licence. God bless you Mr. Stanko!! I hired Paul after an OWI and met with him once and never heard back from him again after he took $1500 from me. Don't fall for his scam of depositing money on his website Paypal account. Once he gets your money he decides if he wants to call you back or not. I don't know how he was ever a judge. He has zero conscientious and is a liar as well.
On June 4 of 2012 Paul was arrested for an OWI after hitting another car while driving plastered. He tried paying the other driver $200 to shut him up and the driver refused. The police came and Paul claimed he doesn't drink. He was given a breathalyzer and was found to be 3X the limit.
TRUST ME AVOID HIM AND DONT BELIEVE THE STATEMENTS HE PUTS ONLINE TO MAKE HIMSELF LOOK GOOD!!

Mr. Stanko really bailed me out of an absurd situation. I was pretty nervous about the whole thing, but after I called him I felt I had nothing to worry about. I pretty much just showed up at the court house a couple of times and verified that no charges or lawsuits were pending against me. Mr. Stanko took care of everything for me it seems. I recommend at least consulting with Mr. Stanko if you even think you could use an attorney.

I got into an embarrassing situation in South Bend which required several court appearances. Judge Stanko guided me through the process and managed to keep my record clear. I learned my lesson and don't expect to need his services again, but I am happy to recommend him to others who fall into a bad situation. His fees were quite manageable, and less than I expected to pay considering how many times we had to go to court to get the desired result.

I have known Paul for just about 10 years now and he's represented me in several different cases and I have always been pleased with the eventual outcome. when I received a speeding ticket in Indiana, i searched for a good lawyer to represent me.
I read some reviews about Mr. Stanko, and read through his impressive bio. I was sure i'll be in good hands.
when i communicated with Mr. Stanko, he told me that i need to pay $250, and he'll represent me. he also mentioned i can do it online.
I logged into his website, and paid him $250.
this was the last i've heard from him.
i was trying to call him, email him, leaving him messages on every communication channel possible. he wouldn't return to me.
after a dozen emails and half a dozen voice messages, he send me a short email saying he'll take of this, and i shouldn't pay the ticket.
few months goes by. I hear nothing.
than i get a ticket from the court, stating i failed to appear at court. $175 fine. Thanks a lot Mr. Stanko. great representation. NOT. i would NEVER use your services again, and I hope this post will save other folks.

Paul was able to get my OWI reduced to a lesser misdemeanor charge and I never lost any driving privileges. In addition, with the alcohol charges dropped, it is a lifesaver with insurance. Paul is actually a former judge in Lake County and everyone at the courthouse knew exactly who he was which can't hurt if your case happens to be in that county. Paul is friendly, professional, and definitely knows what he is doing when it comes to DUI laws. I highly recommend Paul if you face any type of alcohol-related charges.

I found Paul Stanko by searching Google for "Indiana DUI lawyer" and his name kept popping up. He specializes in DUI defense. My case was in South Bend and he met me at court on short notice. I was just going to plead guilty, but he got me a deferred prosecution and the DUI was dismissed a year later after I completed all of my court requirements. This guy is a former judge, and he knows the system inside and out. He had answers to all of my questions, and he really put a lot of effort into making sure I understood what was going on. I recommend him highly to anybody with a DUI in St. Joseph County, but he takes cases everywhere in Indiana. I have already referred several friends to him.
