Amy was referred to us,I should have done my own investigating before making a commitment. Amy showed up minutes before we were to enter the Court Room, leaving no time for guidence, questions, etc.."things" we are paying Amy for right? You can't e-mail Amy,looking for a quick reply, because she takes DAYS to respond and a high fee associated with her late e-mail responses. Amy sent out a letter explaining her services were complete so our official business was done. NOT the case, we later learned Amy had not filed Court papers for child support modification nor eplain to us we would have too. She left many things hanging and questions never answered. SAD!!!

This "lawyer" only returned my calls after I called the office manager and stated I would be seeking assistance from the bar with this situation of being ignored.

Ms. Olthouse truly helped me and my children. She was thoughtful, and ensured I was prepared for Court.

I have never in my life dealt with some one so unprofessional and lackadaisical and ethically corrupt. Not only was I not informed by my lawyer of how to go about the case I was blind sided by fees. In regards to being informed, there was no preparing for the case in addition to that no information shared with me as to what would help what would not. I was also told which seemed as extortion that she will not and can not file paper work until she is paid in full. I’m sure legally she can do this ethically when the same paper work could have been taken care of by the judge I don’t think this is right. In addition to that I did not know when Amy would or would not be in court she showed up a few times and I had no idea she was going to be there. I had little to no communication from Amy until her or her paralegal decided to. I was avoided several times by my lawyer when it came to communications updates and anything that wasn’t in her interest.

Ms. Olthouse didn't inform me of an important responce deadline, resulting in me losing a significant amount of parenting time with my son. I paid Ms. Olthouse over $10,000, to fight for me. I had a clear-cut case, but due to her not being persistant, I had a horrible outcome.

Amy was excellent! She was kind and compassionate, and very knowledgable. She was terrific in the Courtroom, utilizing all of the exhibits given to her. She guided me through a very difficult and emotional time in my life, and she did a great job doing it!

Ms. Olthouse was very prepared for Court in my spouse's case, we just had an idiot judge. It seems to me that when someone's case doesn't go their way, they blame the lawyer, not the Judge. I would highly recommend Ms. Olthouse.

Ms. Olthouse did the worse job of representing her client that I have ever seen. Her communication, litigation and other legal skills are lacking. She was so unprepared (did not include documents provided and discussed before trial), never objected to opposing side (except when she took comments from the opposing attorney personal and finally objected.) She seems to have a conflict of interest in advancing her career rather than representing her clients best interest("afraid of pissing off judge"). As a result due to attorney's poor performance, her client is now forced to pay an Appellate attorney to try to address the issues Ms. Olthouse failed to include at trial. In my opinion from experience of dealing with this attorney, I do not believe she is knowledgeable or experienced enough to be representing someone at trial.

This is the worst lawyer I've come across. You don't get what you paid for. She charged alot but didn't file what they said they would or ask the court for what they said they would.

She was given a lot of info and documents, but she did not use them, including at trial. Direct examination was okay but lacking. Most cross examination was non-existent. Many lies by opposing witnesses were pointed out to her, but she failed to address them. She objected to late disclosures, but then allowed to have them admitted! They say you get what you pay for. Not always true. We paid a high hourly rate, but this attorney and law firm did not do what they said they would do when they were retained. When I complained, she told me that if I didn't like her work I could go elsewhere. I wished I listened, but I was afraid of losing the trial date because I was not receiving child support. Her trial performance was worse than the lack of preparation. The trial is over now and I lost any chance to present evidence that shows my child's safety is in question. Best interests of the child? Sadly, the attorney probably chalks this up to just being mad about the outcome. Not so.
