God, this guy is a Bible-thumping idiot. He argues like a six-year-old (Example: http://www.vgcats.com/jack.php), doesn't know the meaning of words (Example: accusing Penny Arcade of extortion for donating $10,000 to charity in his name because he refused to follow through on his promise to), and is a bit delusional, if you ask me. (Example: Accusing the Sims 2 of genitilia even though it's censored. Even when the censor is taken off, the characters are like Barbie dolls instead of having "genitilia".) Why is he still practicing law? He should be a stand-up comedian and tell how everything is "evil".

Jack Thompson doesnt realize that games like GTA and first-person shooters dont cause violence. other peoples ignorance does. a well resepected member of an online gaming community has trouble at school and with his finances and kills himself so Thompson tries to blame it one Metal Gear Solid without hard evidence. I quote this from his letter in response to this incident:"Let's pretend to be shocked that a gamer might descend into deeper depression, as his gamer "buds," knowing he was killing himself, couldn't figure out how to call 911 themselves for him." The guy announced it in an online forum post. how do any of these people know where he lives so they CAN call 911 for him? o yea thats right. THEY DONT!!! they did do what they could by replying to his post trying to talk him out of it. Jack Thompson needs to pay attention to teh facts and get them straight before he begins slandering a suicide victim and his liscense to practice law should be revoked because of HIS ignorance.

One of the leaders in the un-American fight against freedom of speech. hides behind "protecting the children" but really wants to censor what adults watch, play and listen to. Is part of a growing and scary movement to make this country into one that is approved by the Christian right. This isn't freedom at work.

I think he should stick to being an ambulance chaser and leave the issue of video games to those who actually understand them. He's hypocritical, arrogant and seeks only to better his own reputation by blame-shifting the issue of youth violence on to video games instead of where it belongs...the parents. It's amusing how not once does he mention the parent's responsibility for their child's behavior. Oh no! It was the nasty vieo games fault. That's like blaming war on games like Battleship, and Risk. Or saying that the game Operation causes mal-practicing doctors. His arguments and his antics in and out of the courtroom are ridiculous to say the least. He doesn't realize what he's gotten himself into.
