Amanda is an amazing lawyer. She told me what was likely to happen in my case even though it was not what I wanted to hear. She was kind, caring and took the time to know my kids names. Her invoices were reasonable and I didn’t feel gouged. She has had a lot of staff changes since Covid and when I was frustrated, she took the time to call me personally. No one is happy with the results of a split. Amanda was honest, down to earth and easy to talk to. I highly suggest you hire her.

Very disappointed with this lawyer. She has had a handful of incompetent staff come and go over the last year. Everytime I called to get an update on my file I got somebody new who had no idea what was going on and gave me a long list of excuses of why things werent getting done. My appointments with her kept getting cancelled last minute. Deadlines kept getting missed. Court dates getting pushed back for no reason. I put up with all this crap to have someone from her office call me a couple weeks before my next court date to tell me she is not a legal aid lawyer anymore and I need to find a new one. I called legal aid to ask what was going on they had no idea. She does not care about peoples lives. She only care about filling her pockets.

Very disappointed that Ms. Gaw's office couldn't even look up a phone number to cancel an appointment and waited until the client showed up to tell them the appointment was cancelled. They also had an alternate contact number and they didn't even try that one!

Amanda is one of the most caring, professional lawyers with a unique sense of humor. Unlike the majority of lawyers in this city, she is not in practice for the almighty dollar, but rather focused on getting a fair settlement for all. Just be patient and keep in mind that she has to work within the boundaries of the judicial system, which at times is very biased. Marnie her partner is an awesome, caring individual. In the end, Amanda will accomplish what she mapped out at the beginning of the case and deliver what she set out to do to the best of her ability.

Amanda is a Saint! I cannot say enough good words about her. I had a consultation with a different attorney prior to seeing Amanda and had a very bad experience. Amanda was amazing. She took the time to understand my case. She is helpful and down to earth. She took time to explain all proceedings to me. She is caring and gave what was in my opinion excellent advice. She is very approachable and will tell you like it is. Her knowledge of family law was evident throughout all of our conversations. Definitely worth the wait for an appointment. I would HIGHLY recommend using Amanda to anyone.

Amanda Gaw is not only a person of integrity but is honest and caring. The reviews that lambaste her on here, are obviously nothing more than sour grapes by those former spouses of her clients. I would caution anyone from relying upon anything that is posted anonymously. If you met her once, you would see she is dedicated, kind and an excellent lawyer.

Amanda is a very intelligent and caring lawyer. Her fees are reasonable and I did not feel "gauged". I believe she is fair and honest and wants the best outcome for everyone involved. I would definitely recommend Amanda!

Amanda took my case when all my previous Lawyers sucked me dry of money and cast me aside with no care that they did not finish my case. Money was not her priority with me, getting my case finally closed was!! She was wonderful to talk to and she got things done fast! Plus you feel very welcome with her staff and her office atmosphere. I would recommend her to anyone!! Thank-you so much!!

Sadly she failed to do research on how domestic abuse affects children in the home and so didn't anticipate the manipulation and influence that an abusive spouse can have on them. She was not interested in the history of violence in the home and basically commended the other parent for their actions. Might as well hit me herself! She has no idea what's she's done and frankly doesn't care! Abusive men can be charming and manipulate the system and she bought into it, hook, line and sinker. If you have her as a Children's Lawyer and as a woman you were in an abusive marriage by all means request a new one.

Her best interests are the child(ren) in the cases she represents and not the mighty $$$ like most other lawyers. She tries to settle your case and will find any way she can do so. She is busy like other lawyers so communication can sometimes be slow. BUT when you are presented with the work she has done...WOW....amazing quality. She is fantastic. She is lovely person.

Amanda was wonderful she won my case and now I have my two year old child living with me and it's great. If you want a lawyer that is honest and great with you're kids call amanda. I would recommend her to everybody!

Lets her clients lie to her, fraternizes with opposing clients which is unprofessional and allows her clients to lie to her without any follow up.

I retained Ms. Gaw 11/07, she is still my rep now. She and her staff, esp Marnie are wonderful hardworking people. She genuinely cares about my children and their well being. She answered my questions honestly and didn't blow smoke up my behind and make promises she couldn't keep. Unlike Mcfadyen or Vickard who will pacify you with BS, or completely ignore you. A lawyer is simply your representative, if you don't give them something sufficient to represent, then you can't expect the world. It would be like asking a dr to diagnose an ailment but not give them any clue as to the symptoms. She has to work within the bounds of the legal system of the province. I've seen her frustration with "the system" and how it ties her hands at times. She isn't a miracle worker, and court proceedings are a team effort. You're just as much responsible for what you bring to the table as she is responsible to present it to the court. For me, I couldn't have asked for a better legal team to work with.

Claims to be updated with her Masters in parental alienation but forgot what Abusive Men are capable of doing with children. Not having their best interests at all.

unreal how this lawyer would change two words on an inplace agreement without the clients knowledge and disrespect her clients. my papers were signed off in may yet we attended court monthly for 8 more months over nothing. cost more money to have her do nothing but screw up, not worth the headache. i ended up firing her and representing myself and after that day, my case was over... finally!!!!

a BIG bully..that is what she is and instead of my ex paying support to his family he pays it to her so that we can suffer. she gets away with being in contempt of court and has no idea half the time what she is even doing. she is a joke.

She is only in it for the money. She cost me everything. I had a legal separation agreement in place and she did nothing to defend it. She mailed my documents to the wrong address, did not notify me in a timely manner and did not reply to any correspondence from me. She outright lied to me on a number of occassions. I did all the work. I gave her an entire file and she charged me for the work I DID. She filed documents with the courts filled with errors that I caught. She is not a good lawyer at all. Save your money and your time.
