Mean, cruel. Shushed me when I mentioned domestic violence. Hates women- especially if you are young. Likes humiliation tactics. Belittles you, fires you as a client and makes up reasons why. Stated to me that “I know what you said about me” and fired me- now learning it was someone else who has complained. Left me in the lurch. Called in my boyfriend to come to the office because she “was about to say stuff I didn’t want to hear”. Absolutely out of a horror movie as that woman that wants to ruin your life. Made sure I didn’t get spousal support because “you were able to work while raising the kids”. Didn’t want to hear anything. Honestly 10 years later and I still suffer because of her behaviour and decisions. My boyfriend stated to me that she was insane. Overall one of the worst people I have ever met.

Alisa does whatever you tell her and tries to line her pockets. She will encourage you to waste your money in litigation after litigation. If you want to waste your money on revenge, work with her.

During the past 3 years I have found that Alisa Williams had been exceptional in her logical thoroughness in tackling a difficult and ugly separation case. She is very effective and clear in her instructions to me and to opposing counsel. Alisa had my best interests in mind since our first meeting. She did not sugar coat, was forward, honest , at times blunt and always calming. She most certainly does not let you fold or surrender until a suitable agreement is made. Highly recommended.

Ms.Williams did not put effort into my case. She lacks knowledge in family law. Ms.Williams is not available when needed. I would not recommend her to anyone searching for a lawyer. Ms.Williams charges too much money for bad service. She is very unfriendly.

I felt I was left in a very vulnerable position with Alisa as my lawyer and I had to look elsewhere to finish my case. I was pregnant but living in the same house as my emotionally abusive ex. I did not want to leave due to our shared children whom he was alienating against me. I also didn't want him to know that I was pregnant for fear of how he would use that against me (not his baby). Alisa knew the situation. She also knew that as a support worker for people with disabilities I made very little money but that I would be paid out a considerable sum when the separation agreement was completed as my ex makes significantly more than I do and our house was valued at over $700,000. She refused to go further until I could pay her another large amount and threatened a collection agency. My funds were exhausted and my baby bump was growing. I was terrified. I needed to find a lawyer who would complete this immediately & would be willing to receive payment upon completion. Thank God I did.

Was looking for a lawyer and based on the reviews on this site I thought I'd give this lawyer a shot. Turned off right away as she only cared about her retainer fee and hourly fee funds to be made available before she would even offer a consultation. Most other lawyers at least offer a consultation and then charge. Here, she wanted the money upfront else wouldn't even listen to what I had to say. No thank you. Next.

A simple stepparent adoption with the other parent willing to sign over rights turned into her wasting our time and money. Charged me for emails asking what's happening when I did not hear from her months after giving the retainer. Honestly, I went and paid another lawyer to finish our case, took 2 weeks and it was over. She had taken months!! Please do not waste your money of your energy

Alisa has been very patient, and helpful. My Separation has been very ugly and she's actually had my best interests in mind since our first meeting over a year ago. I'm very pleased with the representation Alisa provides. The other party is unrepresented by counsel and is very acrimonious and abusive. Regardless of his behaviour, Alisa is professional and an aggressive advocate on my behalf. She handles the matter with compassion, empathy and reassuring humour.

I have used Alisa for 3 seperate cases in the last 7 years, she is amazing!! She is forward and honest. She doesnt tell you what you want to hear she tells you exactly how it is. No sugar coating. Alisa doesnt allow you to surrender or give up she keeps you strong and does not settle until you get 100% what you deserve. Alisa has been successful in getting exactly what i wanted in 2 of my cases the 3rd one is still open and pending court which i have zero doubts will turn out successful i highly recomment Alisa Williams to anyone who asks about family law lawyers

Alisa was a god send. She helped me out to get time to properly retain someone despite her busy scheduale. SHe was compassionate, and depite me not being her client she fought hard to prove my side and got me exactly what was needed. If she can do an amazing job for someone who has not retained her she must be incredible to her clients. Unfortunatley, my case conflicts with her current ones time wise. I did not qualify for legal aid but had no extra income to secure representation so at first I represented myself but the other party's duty counsel was taking advantage of this. Everyone I had a consult with was brash and showed no empathy. Ms. Williams educated me each step of the way so that I understood the court process and felt comfortable with possible outcomes. I felt prepared each court appearance and comfortable that she had my best interest in mind. It was also a benefit that everyone respects Ms. Williams in the legal community. You never want an attorney who is not busy! Often we expect the world to revolve around ourselves and people to reply to us in seconds. I appreciated that when Ms. Williams responded to my emails she was so detailed and thorough. Hopefully I will not have to appear in court again but I have referred her to friends and family. Trust her and let her do her job she will not disappoint you- her reputation speaks for itself.

I have used this lawyer a few times now and each time proves to be more satisfying. Alisa got my son out of foster care in only 3 mths when i was told it would take 3-5 years! Alisa is kind, caring and compassionate when it comes to dealings with the CAS or CCAS and is very knowledgeable when it comes to dealing with them *CCAS*. I would definitely recommend this lawyer and am truly grateful for the payment structure as well.

Always working on your case no matter what time of day it is, e-mails are proof. Able to multi task and keep amazing records on her lap top when trial is ongoing. A real down to earth person that takes your case very personal. All meetings were kept brief and not spent listening to stories. I found her very personable and knowledgeable. I would and have recommended others who want quality representation all at reasonable costs.

What a terrible experience! She is never prepared except when asking for money. She is always late, rude, ignorant, phony, never available, scattered and does not appear to know or care what she is doing. Just do what others have had to do and have her account reviewed by a judge to have it reduced to the actual value of the (lack of) service cuz you will get nowhere with her. She's all talk. Her website says one thing and you get another. DO NOT USE THIS 'LAWYER"!I agree with other about her "5" ratings - they must be fake ratings posted by her and her friends or her staff and others who she must threaten to post them. The staff seem nice but frustrated with her as well. I feel bad for them. lawyers aren't cheap but that's ok if you get something out of it. She brags about herself and her luxury items. There are lots of lawyers out there - don't be fooled.

I have been using Alisa for over 14 years now and everything I have asked from her and for my children has happened. Thank you for your great work Alisa. I have refered many people to her and no one has ever has any issues with her. Obvioisly shes a lawyer people and ahe has MANY client's you not the only person shes working with. Its the court system no the lawyer. Also just to note here no I dont work in her office I am her client!

I've had Alisa as a lawyer for 7 months, and the only time I've seen her, is when she validated my legal aid certificate. You can never get through to her, she rarely returns calls, and if she does, she'll leave a message with her number. I've never gotten an appt. to this day. Once when I did speak to her, instead of making an appt. for me, she told me to call back 2 weeks later and make an appt. Then I couldn't get in touch with her. Each time I've gone to court, it was without council from Alisa beforehand, and I went in blind. When I had to meet with the police, I called Alisa's office and left messages, left emails, and left messages with the secretary, to see if I should be meeting with the police alone. Alisa never responded. At 5 a.m. on the day of my meeting, she emailed me telling me not to go. I didn't know, so I went to the meeting. Then she sent me a letter telling me how mad she was that I went and met with the police after she told me not to. Not a good lawyer!

Alisa did a very good job on my case things dident go as quickly as i hoped but that's because of the Court system not her. She fought hard and helped me get more then i was even asking for. When i first came to Alisa i was in the middle of my case and just had been kicked of Legal aid right away she rote the legal aid office letters that helped me get my legal aid back. I was so impressed with the way she turned my case around within a couple weeks. i decided to stay with her and not go back to my other legal aid lawyer.Yes like any other lawyer sometimes she was hard to get a hold of but Lawyers have trials and you will get that anywhere you go She never missed a meeting with me or a court date. I would defiantly recommend Alisa to any women going threw a hard time with the court system and anyone else who needs her services she is a great lady and a great lawyer.

Remember people...all 5's are probably someone from their office bumping numbers. Look at the other one's! (I have to say the work this lady did for my friend was terrible to say the least! $3000 down the toilet). Do not! use this lady for any legal work what so ever. I must have fallen into the same "you're not worth my time" category as some of the others. Very disappointed with the service provided by Alisa. She either has too many clients or just doesn't care if you aren't going to make her money. She tried to fuel things between my ex and I a few times when all we wanted to do was settle out of court. She sends out correspondence without you reading it over first. Never returns calls. Charges are inconsistent. She makes her own appointments and it took her 3 WEEKS to get back to me just to make one. She has her own agenda and never addresses the task at hand, although if you need 5 financial statements then look no further. Just a really bad overall experience. Felt like I didn't get the legal support that I paid for when I needed it most. Total waste of time and money. Took my business elsewhere and have already gotten more information and help in two weeks from the new lawyer than I have gotten from Alisa in a year and a half!

She fights for and is a strong voice for what you want, where a lot of the other lawyers I have seen through out the process just seemed to go with the flow!. She is also very kind and caring, so talking with her during this process was very easy and made things a lot less stressful and I would personally strongly recommend her as your lawyer because of how good of a job she did, her knowledge and making my life so much easier during the whole ordeal.

Alisa Williams seems to never be in her office. She is not compassionate, returning phone calls days later and leaving robotic voicemails that merely leave her phone number for you to call her back. When I asked her secretary to speak with her, Alisa was always too busy for me and I was sent to voicemail. One day I called on a thursday at noon and was told Alisa was done for the day. I called the following day and was told "I don't know when she will be in, she comes and goes all the time". I have taken my business elsewhere as Alisa clearly is too busy to take on new cases and lacks compassion which is essential to any decent lawyer.

Alisa is one of the most useless lawyers I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Once she received my retainer she never returned calls, never followed up with me, charged me for things I had no knowledge of, and did not help my case at all. She was unprofessional, showing up late to appointments, cancelling appointments last minute and not following up to reschedule and calling the meeting to an end within 10 minutes of meeting. I would not recommend this lawyer to anyone.
