Inefficient and does not know or remember the case from meeting to meeting. Spends to much client time going over things that were repeated before. Does not communicate in a timely fashion. I feel that some of her actions have hurt the communication with my ex-spouse and negatively affected the situation for adults and children. Financials were not thought through. I switched lawyers. Cannot recommend her for amicable divorce proceedings.

Dishonest, manipulative, and unethical. Not really interested in the long term welfare of the couple or their children. Many judges have wised up to her shenanigans, and warned her. A piece of trash of a human being, actually.

I am very happy with the service I got from Linda. She is entirely competent, absolutely ethical, and unabashedly compassionate. Linda was initially recommended to me through friends of friends. When I subsequently googled her I was confused by the disparity in reviews posted by former clients: some so positive, others so negative. Also, I felt that the total number of reviews constituted an unreliably small sample of an experienced lawyer's overall client list. I consequently decided to put greater weight on the peer review rating she has at Martindale.com (at the time of this writing 4.4/5.0), which in turn meant trusting the positive client reviews. I've never regretted that decision. Having now completed a long divorce process, and listened to my ex's opinions of her string of lawyers, I can only conclude that the negative reviews say more about the people who wrote them than they do Linda.

After years procrastinating, she did not accomplish what she tried to accomplish. Instead of focussing on settling the agreement and allowing people to move on, she sent both parties fishing, causing both parties to spend much more money than expected. A total waste of time and money. In the end, the result was as it should have been from the get go.

I would highly recommend Linda. Like all family law lawyers you meet them during difficult times, they have a tough task to deal with dealing with feuding couples who are not always logical. Linda set me straight when I was wrong, fought for my rights and secured my daughters custody, I could not have asked for more. She was great to have one on one's with, there is definitely cheaper out there but you get what you pay for with Linda. HIGHLY recommend!

I worked with Linda and she was excellent.My case was complicated and difficult. My husband had many companies and his financial situation was complex.With her expertise i ended up with a great settlement.She doesn't waste time and is strong when you need her to be.I was extremely well represented and knowing that she has acted for hundreds of people over the years, it doesn't surprise me that a few disgruntled people have written on this site.i felt compelled to set the record straight. This lawyer is top notch!!

I met Linda Schachter in the most unfortunate time of my life. My Divorce was devastating and the support I got from her was unbelievable. Aside from her ability to get things done with all the conflicts with my ex-wife, she guided me through important matters about my children. She is kind and fair. She is also very tough and fair when she needs to be.I've seen many family lawyers and none come close to her. She is without question the tops in her field.

A year after signing what appeared to ba a fair straight forward divorce agreement. Found to have major flaws. Very expensive agreement very expensive to fix. I would not recommend their services.

Je tire mon chapeau! Kudos to Linda Schachter for her eminent skills in family law. This particular branch of law is intense and emotions by all parties are, by and large, uber-extreme. My case was long and arduous and my emotions were all over the map. Linda was highly sensitive to the difficulties I was enduring. She was utterly compassionate, wise and savvy in her knowledge of the law. She was very confident that everything would work out, and ultimately it did. I can't thank her enough for being in my corner. She has a caring and respectful staff surrounding her. Dear friends of mine highly recommended Linda to me and I am so grateful to them.

I agree with all the above bad comments and I raise them to the power of two. I was treated like a dummy, I upset her every time I offer a request and/or opinion without any effect.She has few standard answers to everything and involves around them. She normally juggles too many things at the same time and offered minimum attention to my case. The public should be protect from this kind of professionals.

It's all about bilable hours with Linda. She will string you along. Is happy to send letters to the other lawyer. Will rile you to fight and never do anything to that helps you settle in your favour.It was 3 against one.My spouse, her lawyer and Linda against me. How long and how much could they all pocket. No effort to resolve. No adise such as a settlement conference with a judge. She is very smart to her advantage. Stay clear of this type of lawyer is my best advice.

When you meet her she is sweet, kind and sympathetic. Once you retain her she becomes cold, hard and self serving. I would never recommend her or her firm.

Linda Schachter thinks nothing of using trickery to take advantage of her client and to charge outrageous fees with impunity. Her recommendations were first and foremost self serving and as such, her services are in no way worth the cost. Not only would I not recommend her to anyone, I would most certainly steer anyone I can away from her.
