When I ran out of options, I reached out to Mr. Goodman. I was desperate, I was scared. What he did for me is nothing short of a miracle. Reach out to him people, even if it’s on the last minute. If you are ever in need of a criminal defense attorney in Charlottesville, Va. or surrounding areas, Scott Goodman is the BEST. He is notorious as one of the best lawyers in the area, and with him on your side there is no losing. He is sincere, and truly cares about his cases. I have used him several times and he has not once let me down. He is always responsive, easy to contact, pleasant, reasonably priced, and has a way of making an awful situation seem not so bad. He is a highly skilled attorney and I wouldn't recommend anyone else in the area.

I called on Mr. Goodman to represent my son in June 2017 (underage alcohol) and again in May 2018 (reckless driving). Each time, our only hope was to have him successfully negotiate the outcome, as (it seemed to me) there was no question that my son was guilty as charged. On both occasions I was blown away by Mr. Goodman’s keen ability to listen & analyze every word spoken as the officer(s) presented the facts of the case. While the presentation was consistent with what my son reported, Mr. Goodman was able to turn the judge’s attention to the facts that were NOT presented - and in doing so, he saved my son’s driving privileges, criminal record, and job! Mr. Goodman used the law to our advantage, which is precisely why we hired him. His understanding of the law is invaluable!. He is tactful, honest, and did not provide false-hope. Rather, he prepared us for the worst and surprised us with relief. It is true... “He who represents himself, has a fool for a client”.

If you need a great criminal lawyer in Charlottesville, VA that is professional, cares about his client and knows his way around the court system then I highly recommend Mr. Scott Goodman. We hired Mr. Goodman after a bad experience with our 1st lawyer. Mr. Goodman was professional, open in our discussions, caring about his client’s well being and did not sugar coat his responses. He responded to all of our requests/questions in a timely manner. He updated us on any progress or discussions with the DA. Mr. Goodman worked patiently and diligently to prep the accused for trial who had difficulties in communicating effectively. In the end there was a plea deal for a jail sentence of 45 days for a misdemeanor instead of a possible 16 years in prison. So do yourself a favor, do your research and meet with Mr. Goodman. You won’t be sorry.

Knowledge - he had a similar case as mine before and he knew the exact way to approach it! He also knew the judge and what and what not to bring up. Communication - he answered my texts/calls immediately, and met with me before the case a few times. Tenacity - he was extremely diligent (took photos to back up my case, made sure I felt comfortable throughout it all, etc.) Work Quality/Value - the above pretty much covers all this. I did not know Scott but he treated me in a very professional manner and I now consider him a good friend of mine. I would recommend him to all of my friends in a heart beat. Needless to say, he was able to have the judge side with me over the cops and I was able to get out "Scott" free!

I truly can't emphasize the degree to which Mr. Goodman stepped up to handle/win my court case. Not only did he help me during the trial, but he followed up with me several months after and wrote a letter to the medical board on my behalf to ensure that my career would not be adversely affected by a frivolous lawsuit. Real stand up guy.

I was extremely lucky to be referred to Mr. Goodman by someone with a great heart and great soul. I am a super newbie to Virginia and was got into a mess of a situation. I met with Mr. Goodman went through my case and particulars. Not even knowing me, Mr. Goodman took my case, super lucky me. My charges were not good at all. Mr. Goodman was always straight up with me with my circumstances and it was not good. I loved him being straight up with me and his true honesty but I cried many of times and there was good reason to. Honesty is the best policy. Mr. Goodman was able to help me through this disastrous position I was in my life. I would recommend Mr. Goodman to anyone in any legal representation/mess that is needed. I truly can't speak highly enough of Mr. Goodman's legal services. He is prompt to reply when you contact him, and he goes above and beyond to help you in any way he can. I am a physician who had an extremely unfortunate turn of events, but Mr. Goodman cleared it up without even going to court and proceeded to help support my innocence even after the case had ended. I was charged with making threatening phone calls and assault. The charges were completely ludicrous and false, but still serious Class I Misdemeanors. Mr. Goodman was the only attorney who would talk with me over the phone and even met with me and offered to do some things before I hired him. After I hired him, he seemed very lax before the trial, but during the trial, I was very impressed! He tricked my accuser into admitting he was lying and the charges were dismissed. Definitely worth what I paid!

Mr. Goodman was a terrible lawyer. I paid him 1400.00 for nothing. He over valued himself. He was always late, and sometimes didn't show up @ all. I would not hire nor reccommend this lawyer for anything. Horrible experiance. Buyer beware of this guy. He is bad!! I actually hired another atty, whom was so much better. I could not believe I ever hired this hack. From what I heard he used to be good, but I think he has lost his passion or something.
