The Illinois Tenants Union is terrible when it comes to communication. Many times, I left messages for them, but they never saw fit to respond. I managed to talk to Mike Pensack only because another lawyer had referred me to him. As I left, he said, basically, "Don't call us, we'll call you." He never did see fit to call me. I never could figure out why he refused to help me. Perhaps my case was too complicated for him. He only likes simple cases because the ITU gets its money by charging its clients one or two months' rent; there's not much sense pursuing a case that these inept lawyers would lose.
